“Striking Thoughts”
Some might say Bruce Lee was the father of mixed martial arts, and that he was one of the most fluid, loose, and fast martial artist in known history. Others say that Lee was a person who simply did, “real kung fu.” Bruce inspired me to start doing martial arts when I was 9 years old, and I believe that he is an absolute legend! Bruce was an extremely respectable martial artist with admirable discipline and dedication. Yet, Bruce Lee was still a mortal man. Just like us he was flawed, fallible, and tried his best to get along in this world the best he could. Before passing away at 32 years old, he wrote four amazing books that brought inspiration to millions around the world. One of his lesser known works is “Striking Thoughts. Wisdom for Daily Living.” In an effort to create thought provoking observational points of view through our One Tao Community, I am going to start posting excerpts from “Striking Thoughts,” in an attempt “strike” up dialogue about Bruce’s“thoughts.” Be they profound, or superficial…pertinent, or irrelevant…fair, or biased…Bruce was a man of vision who started a movement in loving awareness surrounding martial art discipline that continues to this day. Please join me in this journey to acknowledge, analyze, and explore Bruce Lee’s “Striking Thoughts” in a fun, open, and honest forum. HERE WE GO!!

Too Much of One Thing is Not Good
So I've been hesitant in posting this seeing how it might be interpreted wrong. But here it goes. A few Sundays ago I decided to take an indulgence day. No exercise, no training, nothing. Just let go. A few friends and I decide to hit a patio bar to indulge in a Sunday Funday. I Uber. They carpool. They're running late, the bar is in the middle of nowhere. I step out to legally enjoy part of a joint while sipping my bourbon. I take my seat on the patio to sip my cocktail and appreciate how long it's been since I've indulged... have you ever accidentally entered The State??? Unintentionally?? Before I could realize I'm doing the breathing, the visualization, everything except standing doing SNT. All the joy, splendor filling my mind. Sensing the energy throughout my body intensely. Fully indulged until I hear my buddies arrive and say "Dude did you fall asleep at the bar???" My State of mind starts to matter little as I cultivate the state subconsciously 🤌

How often do you feel good?
Seriously, how often do you feel good? Do you feel shit more often than awesome? When do you stop to calibrate and feel where you're at in the eternal Now? When you read this post, I offer you a moment in time to take stock for one whole day (or morning, afternoon etc) and track how often you feel good...or any other 'powerful' feeling and then come back to this post make your choice in this pole below. Don't worry about learning Wing Chun or whatever else, worry about how often you're juicing some other feeling other than a good one. Pick a number!

UFC 307 - Anyone.
I only watched the last event - my boy Alex Pereira against Khalil Rountree. Man oh man. I mean, for those who were betting it was obvious to go for Alex and to choose a knockout. The thing is in the middle of the third round I saw Khalil getting tired and told everyone to bet knockout in the forth. They looked at me like I'm crazy but I told them I'm the Alex Pereira's whisperer 🤣 I've studied this man. The only thing that was weird to see that Alex kept slipping when he kicked. I didn't like that. Anyway, what y'all think?
