I’ve launched my new app, ScubaPlan, on the App Store 👌🤿
Hey devs! Two weeks ago, I launched my new app, ScubaPlan, on the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra. It’s designed for recreational divers, with the goal of enabling dive planning and using that plan on the Apple Watch Ultra as a secondary dive computer. Although I’m still in the process of getting Apple’s (absurd) permission to access the depth sensors on the Apple Watch Ultra up to 40 meters (currently, I can only retrieve data up to 6 meters…), the initial version is already available with several features, including dive computer mode. I really don’t understand Apple’s stance on this—it just doesn’t make sense. I’m still optimizing the ASO and learning along the way, so any advice on that would be greatly appreciated. The design and development are 100% my own, and I’m currently in the process of replacing the app’s icon with a professional one. I like the current one, but it’s a bit too simple. On another note, I might soon be without client projects and am considering dedicating myself 100% to my own projects, starting with this one, and trying to generate income that way. Thank you so much! I’m really excited about the launch and hope you like it. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scuba-diving-plan/id6689517716

12 Week Challenge: $1 to $50 MRR (Week 8+9)
Previous: Week 0 (Introduction), Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5+6, Week 7 ### Status * Week 8 * 🟠 Impressions 2.4k (-3%) * 🟢 MRR $27 (+150%) * Week 9 * 🟢 Impressions 1.8k (+36%) * 🟢 MRR $33.85 (+25%) ### Tactics last week * ✅ Spend 5hrs on next feature release * ❌ Review if tactics need scaling * 🟠 Reach out to 3 content creators ### Wins * Shipped a new release with an overhaul of a core functionality * I’m getting a lot of great suggestions from my user Discord! * Fixed a long-standing bug – again with the help of a user. ### Next I’ve got two more weeks to hit my target of $50 MRR. I need around 16 new subscribers to hit the target. I’ve got nine subscribers on a free trial at the moment. Usually, I get ~5 new trials per week. So, it should be doable. On the other hand, I’m starting to get a bit tired of marketing. I’ve come to the end of content creators to reach out to, posted on the major social media platforms, and promoted in other places. I’m not sure how much more I can do to increase traffic! Thank you all for your suggestions along the journey.

You are never to early to start marketing for product
Here is my attempt to market the product early, while it is still in Beta (Alpha?): • I created a Reel on IG with a call to action in a video to comment with "Beta" and got a test version of the App Link to the Reel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDbrMXkAO8x/?igsh=MWJzdnNpMTVhYXpybg== • This will trigger Mnychat automation and the TestFlight link will be sent in DMs (check the video for details) https://testflight.apple.com/join/rj1nxOW4 • As a follow-up message, the user will get a link to the Discord chat for beta testers https://discord.gg/y4YPu8Tj imo it is better to have something else besides DMs for ongoing communication with beta testers. My audience is geeky, so Discord should work. - The reel was shared in stories as well - Also, I dropped the video in TikTok, but that is sinking ship atm and there is no good way to share the link besides adding it to the profile Next actions: - same video sharing in YouTube shorts, It is harder to share the link, but I can add it in the description and hope that someone will find it there :) - probably I will do a live stream working on the app as well and add a link in the description and in the pinned comments. The app still is crappy and there are bugs and unfinished features, but this is a good candidate to test marketing in the beta stage and get early adopters for the app to collect feedback.
