My first sale šŸ¤Æ
Hi, everyone! After two years of dabbling in everything SaaS, making 3 apps and even more websites, I got my first paying customer. This is not as to show off or something, rather I want it to inspire some of you guys! When I launched my previous app and it got 0 sales I thought i was in a never-ending loop of bad products and bad luck. Turns our that with time and experience, you get better at stuff, and that includes learning what people want, copywriting, and coding. The crucial part is to stay consistent and never stop learning. Just keep shipping and best of luck with your projects! šŸ’Ŗ

Design Automation
Hi, can anyone suggest some tool for automating app related design? Like app icons, screenshot, onboarding flow creatives etc? I want to know which have you tried and how is the result? Also if you can share some pros and cons that would be great. Thanks.

I don't recommend automating your screenshot design. Screenshots are the number one reason people will download your app and it's best if you make them yourself. It would be a waste if you made a great app and got less downloads just because your screenshots aren't great. Regarding icon design, I think LogoFast from Marc Lou is nice (https://shipfa.st/tools/logo-fast). If you don't know how to use Figma yet, please learn as it's really really useful!
Does anyone lack of design thinking? What should I do?
I'm sure many of us, including myself, have plenty of ideas for indie applications. Iā€™d love to consult with all of you on how to approach design thinking effectively. šŸ¤”

I also had some problems with UI design when I started. My advice is that while starting out, you should copy other apps' UI. It doesn't have to be an identical copy, just take it as inspiration. If you know that something looks good and you recreate it, you know your UI will look good as well. Another tip is you should design your UI prior to coding it. When you code it without designing you can make a mess and come up with worse UI. Just open Figma or something like that and spend a day or two planning it all out.

Your Opinion on Language Learning Apps
Hi, community! I would like to know if you use any apps for learning foreign words. What methods do you prefer for learning new words? For example: - Flashcards - Contextual learning (using words in sentences) - Game-based methods (crosswords, quizzes) - Audio and video materials Please share the apps you love and recommend to your friends. I am thinking about creating a flashcard-based app for learning words, with a pre-made set of words for the first iteration. I plan to expand the functionality if the app receives positive feedback from users. For example, I could add: - The ability to add custom dictionaries - Interactive games to reinforce words - Progress statistics and analytics Please share your thoughts on whether it is worth trying to enter this niche as an indie developer. What features and functionalities would you like to see in such an app? Thank you for your opinions and advice!

I do Anki every day, and immerse myself in the language through YouTube and news sites in the target language. I feel like that combination is really effective.
