Dopamine Detox
I started a dopamine detox before joining the community. By the time I joined I had already been off of social media for about a month. I hadn’t yet seen Abraham’s monk mode videos and was wondering why I kept unconsciously picking up my phone even when there was “nothing” to do on it. I’d just stare at the screen and put it back down or go on shopping apps and scroll. I’ve already cut my screen time down by 75% but I’m gonna try the greyscale thing he talked about and see if I can cut it down even more.

Getting over fears (Purpose journaling)
Hey guys, I'm stuck on day 4 of Abraham's purpose journaling. It's the day where you identify self limiting beliefs/fears. I've seemed to identify them, but can't seem to complete the action step of brainstorming ways to not let these fears limit me. I'll write my summarized fears below, if you have any advice on them or just want to relate, let me know I'm all ears. 1. Fear of my own unpredictable emotions- losing motivation, losing determination/drive. 2. Fear of failure and what it means about me 3. Fear of uncertainties of life 4. The death of self that comes with growth 5. Rejection (from myself & others) 6. Vulnerability 7. Experiencing negative emotions

What are some of the personal benefits of meditation you have gotten?
i feel like my focus on tasks is...well...in pieces, and i heard simple meditation can help with that i know a simple google search could help me find the answers, but i was curious to know people's personal experiences with meditation, benefits they got from it etc.

Oh my God meditation has helped me so much, sometimes I get into these really negative thought loops and meditation can bring me down, it really helps to streamline my thoughts so I can start focusing on more important things like what I really want to do and why and that gives me motivation. It gives me a clear enough mind to have breakthroughs so if I'm in a tough situation I can start brainstorming the way out. All in all it sometimes clears those racing/self-defeating thoughts and let's you direct to better self-serving thoughts and keep that calm focus. The more you keep at it the more it benefits you.

@N J Nothing special, sometimes I do a 30 minute mindfulness meditation and sometimes I just sit and let my thoughts freely flow until I'm calm for like 5 minutes in the morning. I'm in college and I spend a lot of time ignoring myself and my needs to the point where I can't recognize them so this sort of slowing down and listening to myself for even 5 minutes helps me to listen better throughout the day

That's a lot but very good habits, I'd say if you have most of these habits down then this is perfect. But if you're introducing a lot of new habits and you find it very very hard to stick to or you're consistently failing try introducing less and getting comfortable with that then slowly add more. Building and strengthening my routine was better than creating and following for me personally. Good luck!
Who is your biggest inspiration right now?
I'm curious to know who are some of your guy's inspirations/who you look up to most and why you look up to them. I really look up to Ali Abdaal currently because I admire the amount of influence and community he has been able to build in such a short amount of time as well as his business success and character.
Complete action

Is it weird to say I'm my biggest inspiration. I can be inspired by other people sure but I knew the depths of what I experienced fully and how much it took to drag myself out with no help or experience. It's basically the demonstration of my own capabilities and because I did it once I know can do it agian, that pushes me the most.
