anyone tried dessiated thyroid?
I hope I am not repeating someone's question already, but I am wondering if anyone on here has tried dessicated thyroid? I have been watching ray peat interviews with danny roddy and thyroid comes up a lot. They are not talking about dessicated thyroid but that is the one that is easier to access than the presription brands

@Craig McDonald Thank you for this response! I get eggs from a local farm, but I know the chicks are fed feed with soy in it, even if the chicken feed is organic, it still contains soy. I get anxious with all the knowledge I have absorbed about food over the years, so my question to you is whether you think this compromises the nutrition from the eggs I am eating? Next question about liver, I found a pate that is quite nice and it is made from pork liver, does this have the same nutrients? should I still try and get beef liver into my system along with this pork liver? My kids will eat heart, but not liver...whats the biggest difference between the two? I am wondering what Taurine is and what food you can get it from? Thank you for putting up with all my questions, I am a detail oriented person and am trying to understand all the various food info in my brain and need help with the practicality of it all, especially to ease my anxiety around food.

Thank you! We eat a lot of eggs in our house, they are our cheapest form of nutrition and we are friends with the farmer (so she sometimes gifts them to us). I am not going to tell her how to care for her chickens, she is an old time farmer and I am not! I think they smell like farts sometimes, but my husband keeps cooking them and I keep eating them lol. I just started on vitamin k, and aspirin, Does progest-e (from ray peat) contain vitamin e or is it just progesterone? I will order some niacinamide on my next order. For dairy, I am in Ontario, Canada and our farming laws are very strict. They do not allow for raw dairy at all...our friends used to sell it as 'pet food' (and they knew all the loop holes) but another farming friend got sent to prison for selling it. This case pretty much deterred every farmer in Ontario from selling it at the farm-gate. All to say, milk from cows in the stores all has added palmitate and vitamin D added to it. Other forms of milk like sheep, goat and water buffalo don't have anything added, but the milk fromt these animals is more expensive to buy. Are the added synthetic vitamins in the cow milk problematic, or no big deal? I can splurge on the other forms of dairy but I wouldn't be able to consume as much of it since it is more expensive. I guess I just need to start tracking to really see whats happening within me. Thank you for all your help.

@Georgia Papagiannopoulos I am sorry to hear that. I hope we can build ourselves a robust nervous system that can handle all these stressors.
Do I need a gym membership?
Do the training programs require access to a gym? I am wondering if I would be able to get by on some of the exercises at home while I work towards affording a gym membership?

how to I get started with tracking?
I am hearing so much about the importance of tracking. Does anyone have a reliable system for doing this? Journal? App? If its journalling, what is the equation for figuring out the macros?

Intro
Hey, I’m a 41 year old mama of 5, and really wanting to get strong again, and feed my body what it needs during this time in life. Was having some perimenopausal symptoms before getting pregnant with my youngest. I gave birth 6 months ago now and really want to make sure I am nourishing myself well before the hormonal changes crash again. Looking forward to meeting with you all. 😊

I am also a mam of five kids, I am 40 and my youngest is 2 (turning 3 in a couple months). I would like to get my energy up and my weight down. 15 years of pregnanacy and breastfeeding along with other life stressors has taken more of a toll on me than I realized. I have just started walking on my own and it feels great. Happy to hear there is some other mams of many in here

I get what you are saying. My husband makes me breakfast most days, but then goes to work and I still forget to eat it, and I still have this flab...I am chubbier and I hardly eat, feels like most people assume that I must eat too much or eat crap foods...and that hurts since I am so diligent with food. I have written so many meal plans and put lots of thought and time into them, either I make them too complicated or the grocery bill is too high. I am hoping this one will work better. I need to start taking the time to do batch cooking, like broths, stews and snacks to help me out during the week. I have no energy to cook three meals plus snacks for seven people everyday, on top of house chores and getting kids to and fro and all the other things mothering demands. I try to prioritise organic produce and just hope I am not getting ripped off! Do you do batch cooking?

I am a mum of five kids, and despite being into nutrition forever, some significant stresses have limited my ability to act. Thankful to this group.
