Thank you for the checklist @Crystal Ostler ! I'm going to start my habit building with drinking more water. I used to be a fish and had no problem drinking water, but I've been struggling to drink a 32oz bottle lately.

@Alia Houston I do try to change up my bottles and I almost always have it with me. I get focused and just forget to drink all together. I used to have an app the sent me reminders. I think I am going to try silent alarms on my watch.

WEEKLY COMMUNITY CALL TOMORROW!!

@Crystal Ostler I found that in the moment deep breathing helped me remain calm, it was a very busy work week for me and my sons first full week of school. It was quite challenging at times. I am getting sticky notes today so that I can put some daily affirmations on my bathroom mirror.

@Mikaela Ford I find if I have a fresh glass of water with dinner and take breaks from eating to drink and even just set my fork down that I eat slower and enjoy my food.
Accountability
Good morning Fit N Flo community!! If this post isn’t allowed, please delete; kind of just needing a touch of encouragement… My name is Koda and I have been a member of the group since it started or shortly there after. I’ve not been active at all. I want to change that. I recently got engaged, and will be getting married in about a years time and I want to improve my health, my mental and physical self… I’ve struggled with losing weight, my entire life. The last month and a half I have committed myself to getting up and going to the gym three days a week. I have since upped that to start going every day.. I guess I’m not sure where to start in the group… :) Thank you… -Koda

Hi Koda! Congratulations on your engagement! 🎉 and another Congratulations for creating and upping your gym habit! I have mostly been active through the posts, but listened to the physical vs mental hunger call recently and really enjoyed it. 🙂 I hope this community fosters the support and encouragement you are looking for!
Making Good Food & Simplicity Fun!
@Alia Houston wrote a post that inspired my next question… My hardest day is grocery shopping day, (which was yesterday!) Mostly bc the kids and I play a game for dinner that day. They each have a budget and a food category to shop for dinner… (1. Main dish, 2. Side, 3. Veggies & Fruits, 4. Desert, 5. Chips (yes, chips get their own category 😅) It’s been a fun tradition and has taught them how to budget and shop… just writing this I’m realizing we need a new challenge… Health Version. 🤔 I am curious how that will go. It did come to my attention they are learning great habits with money… not so great with nutritional choices. What are some items or ways I can help make the new version just as fun for them?

This is a great idea! My son enjoys cooking meals together whether it be with his Gran or myself. I've never thought to teach him meal budgeting. What a fun and educational challenge!
