Tell me about a time your heros and villains had to work together

My nephew is 11 and his school lunch dnd group has a "hole wizard". I'm pretty sure he can make bags of hole-ding, has a home with no door, and could remove your appendix without leaving a scar. pretty great stuff. But I got to thinking what if Mr. wizard was forced to use his magic in unscrupulous ways? then he'd have to ask the heros for help. SO I'd like to hear about unlikely times your heros and villains had to temporarily band together for a common cause.
