What are the important things?
So last night, someone very close told me that the tasks I do are not important. These were the tasks in question. I drove 1.5 hours last week to watch my son represent his university at a sports competition. Then I took my other son to take a tour of a university he’s interested in and submit some documents they needed with regards to his university offer. This also involved an hour of driving and an hour back. Unimportant tasks? I don’t think so. Rather I think it’s very important to cheer and support my child and to give my other child an opportunity to see where he may spend the next 6 years. Don’t let anyone tell you what’s important and what’s not. They don’t see the world like you do.

Agree with you.
What are your most important questions? And a creative writing exercise for the kids!
Things have got very quiet in here. I want to know what last week had been like for you . And if you have any questions? Message me or leave a comment or ask in the Q&A tomorrow. All the links and details of the Q&A are in the calendar. Also, how is the year 5 book list going? The year 4 book list should be with you this week. I’m doing all I can to get it to you 🏃‍♀️ To get you guys going for the week, ask your. Hold to describe what they see in this photo. No rules. If they want to write a story or describe the scene, it’s totally ok. Let them just write half a page or a page. I took it when I visited my sister. This lake is just outside her house 🏠

Comprehension secrets with a focus on inference
A few of our members asked me about comprehension strategies. I have recorded a video for you to show you where you can find this guidance in the OS community. I am happy to record a video but I am not sharing the link to this resource because I want you to explore the course that we have here. This is a community where I guide and support you. But YOU take action and see the results of your efforts! https://us06web.zoom.us/rec/share/orGR5WL1itOzt0vd7l_t14j0PdCUS2iLl5tTlu9uM9j_LbdRRdi6ETfNzMEXLkr5.fYfpIWf3931-MWIh Passcode: i5bT6&8w Remember to implement this guidance👆Taking action in the right way is what will bring you results. 🏆 1️⃣To help you more, I am attaching a comprehension practice sheet by Mandy for your children to try. You can access our EPRB website to get more downloadable comprehension resources. Let your child attempt it once they are confident with the techniques and strategies https://www.elevenplusrevisionbooks.co.uk 2️⃣Sheena Ager, author of Cadwaladr Quests has free comprehension sessions for Years 4 and 5 that your child can try. You can join her TG group to get the details. https://t.me/+BmLxB_zIghczYTFk PLUS, my tips on inference in particular, since this was specially requested by a member.👇 Inference Made Easy 🤩 Inference is like being a detective, finding clues in stories or pictures to understand more. Use Twinkl's picture prompts to make it fun! For example, if characters wear gloves, it's probably cold. If they arrive at a place, it's likely sunset. Building Emotion Skills Learn emotions with exaggerated cartoon faces, you can google and print them out or draw them yourself. Imagine how those feelings would be. Look at pictures and ask: What's happening? How does the person feel? This helps understand different emotions. Daily AND fun Reading Habits

Vocabulary Challenge- Children's worksheets submission post and feedback
Hey lovely parents, I hope you had a lovely weekend. I need some help from you. 1️⃣Please leave feedback in the comments below. How did you find the vocabulary challenge? What was your child's reaction to it? What was it that they learned through the exciting 5 days? This is important so that I can plan the next challenge! If you want to leave feedback privately, you can message me as well. 2️⃣Can you please leave a comment with your children's worksheets as images here? You can attach as many worksheets as you want. We will pick one winner for the most creative worksheets apart from the winners in the other two categories- the most engaged student and the student who used a variety of words! 3️⃣All those who participated will receive a certificate of participation. Please message me privately with your children's names. I am looking forward to wrapping up the challenge with special DIY Vocabulary Challenges for ongoing learning. 🤩
