Ditch the new year resolutions
It’s a brand new year, and I’ve decided to cancel my New Year’s Resolutions—and I think you should too. Resolutions are often well-intentioned promises that rely heavily on motivation and willpower. Unfortunately, those can waver, especially when juggling the demands of family, work, and preparing for the 11-plus tests. Instead of focusing on lofty goals, I’ve found that progress happens when we build reliable systems—habits, routines, and frameworks that guide us daily. These systems don’t depend on perfect days; they work consistently, even during the busy ones. For 2025, let’s focus on creating systems that make your child’s 11-plus preparation smooth, structured, and stress-free. To kick-start the year, I’ve put together a few ways we can support you and your child on this journey: All links for the information below will be on our links list. Click here for the links list. You can ask if you have a question, I am here to help you. #1 Attend Our Comprehension Skills Session (10th January) Comprehension is a crucial component of the 11-plus exams. Join us for an interactive session where we’ll work through techniques that build confidence and improve performance. This is free for all on the LJ Programmes. The Zoom link will be in the calendar. #2 Take on the Vocabulary Challenge Building a strong vocabulary is essential for 11-plus success. Our Vocabulary Challenge Workbook is designed to make learning words fun and effective. You can grab your copy from our website shop. #3 Sign Up for the Year 4 Learning Journey Programme This programme is your roadmap to success, offering structured lessons, ATOM school accounts, parental guidance modules, and much more. Early bird bookings are open till the end of this month. Access our Community and Year 4 programme Trial Pack #4 Create a Daily Study System Encourage your child to focus on small, manageable tasks like 15 minutes of vocabulary practice or solving a few maths questions. These micro-habits compound into great results over time.
