41 contributions to Kettlebell Dojo
🥷 Kettlebell Kumite #6 | September 9 - October 9, 2024
How many *PUSH UP* can the entire dojo collectively complete within the span of 30 days? We're benching the kettlebell this month… to capitalize on the Push Up gains for the kettlebell's return in October! Here's how it works: - For the next 30 days, strive to complete as many *PUSH UP* as possible. - This is a group kumite, so every participant's reps are tallied together. - If you want to keep a diary, record a video of yourself doing the work. - Share your results in a comment below this post. - You have 30 days to contribute your reps to the dojo's total. Note: Any type of Push Up is allowed! Knee Push Up, Decline, On Bench, One-Arm…

@Fergus Watson they are referring to the Armor Building Complex, it is made up of 2 cleans, 1 press, and 3 squats, as Roland did in the video. That combination of moves would be considered 1 set of the ABC. There are single bell variations of it too, but it was originally a two bell complex. Dan John created it, and has videos on YouTube showing both the double and single variations. It is a great complex and doing sets of it can be a workout just on its own! I really like it!

https://youtu.be/AZOQ8647Cu0 OK. So I lied. I did the orange belt test before I got the 6 week challenge under control with 12's- which was my intent. I couldn't have @Elissa Boulos running off with all the belts now. Could I? (Hint: you go do it Elissa!) In this set, I was trying to remeber all the queues to all the moves and, being the noob I am, tripping over every - single - one - of them. Such is the learning process. 🤷‍♂️ @Andreas Last , I did my best to demonstrate 'straight' (relaxed) arm snatches, and conclude that, at my level, while there's a distinct difference between bending and not, an actual straight arm is a challenge (and probs not really worth it?). I also attempted to demonstrate the difference of the 2nd dip in the jerk, but found that frustrating, so gave it away to press instead. (See Kettle Knights ep 51 @ ~50 min in for proper explanation of 2nd dip - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmjzCPe1MlI). So this is where I am, with an ability to demonstrate the need for the reps as well as theory, though not so great at actual demonstration bit 🤪). Even my breathing was off! So... Roast me. 😆

Good job on getting it done!
10-Minute Fat Burning Morning Workout You Can Do Everyday
Today I repeated the same workout I already did last Thursday. I also used the same weights: 16 kg and for the finisher alternating suitcase walk 20 kg. I‘m still in recovery mode, but today the workout felt already better. I‘m coming back slowly.

I really like the 40/20 protocol! A nice simple workout that ends up being a lot of swings!

I love to travel and be outside with my wife, and want to use kettlebells to help live a healthy life.
