😬 Why I Ran from a $50k/Month Company — Sales Job Hunting Advice!

After hopping on to a couple roles and having the craziest experiences, here are 13 things that will be helpful to you while looking for your next role!

1. Ask yourself: would you buy this product if you were in the customer’s shoes? If it’s a NO, run away from that offer. Don’t take on offers with bad reviews. I'd also stay away from those with no testimonials as well.

2. Always ask about a company’s lead flow!! If it's poor, stay far.

3. If the company is doing less than $10k/month, you probably don’t want to be there.

4. For setters, cold outbound should be your last choice unless there’s a good base pay and a fat commission.

5. For setters again, always clarify if it’s an outbound or inbound role before you say YES.

6. Don’t rush into a job role. Always review if it’s something you can sustain before you hop in; if not, you might be leaving the role quickly as well. If you have other commitments, like school, family, or work, carefully examine the offer you’re taking along with those.

7. Check the timezone you’ll be working with—working in a different timezone than yours can make you go crazy, lol.

8. Your skills develop better when you’re actually in a role and talking with real people—can’t believe I’m the one saying this, but I had about 8 good calls recently, and I can confidently say you’ll get better with time.

9. Network, network, network! Building connections can open doors you never knew existed. Connect with people in sales groups like this one, and don’t be afraid to reach out to other people in the group (like me ;) but major people to bug are Maddie & Dylan 🤫)

10. Keep learning. Whether it’s through mock calls, live calls, books—just keep learning.

11. Stay positive and persistent. Job hunting can be tough, but being persistent can make a huge difference. I sent out like what - 25 looms? to land a role

12. Celebrate small wins and keep pushing forward.

13. DON'T SETTLE FOR PETTY COMMISSIONS!! - what is 1% commission for a $3000 product?? come on!😂 - don't settle for less when you could have more. (PS: this should have come somewhere in the middle but I'm not ready to retype the numbering loll)

The past week has been one of the craziest weeks of my life, lmao, so everything I typed out here is out of experience.
