Funnels
Hey guys, I'm trying to create a landing page funnel for a client and have questions around best practices for page tracking.
This funnel will have multiple pages ie. lead form, informational page, booking calendar etc.
I am familiar with how to setup pixel code to track page view but that is essentially as far as my knowledge goes with tracking. I have found it difficult to work out where to locate this data within ads manager also.
How can I; (1) monitor what pages people are hitting and where they are dropping off, (2) find this information in ads manager and ensure it is being used by fb to accurately optimise for conversion? Thanks

  1. You wouldn't actually use the pixel for that, you would use google analytics.
2 You would set up custom events in the pixel for the parts you want to track (and put a priority on them and you would set the conversion event to the last part

100% i would go with google analytics being set up on the account.
Then creating custom events for all the key metrics you care about you can create path exploration reports based on your funnel.

under events manager > data sources you will find all the events that are being tracked.
Then if you need a custom conversion you can go to the custom conversions menu (just below data sources) and add other conversions using the step-by-step guide.
Another way to set up an event is via events manager > settings> event setup. Here you can go to each URL and check the buttons are being tracked, categorise them and test them
