Reducing dopamine from habits
With the talk around dopamine detoxing, I thought I’d bring how smaller but more overarching changes to already existing habits can remind me why I truly do a habit or task.
For example:
I’m going to order unflavoured protein powder instead of vanilla, so it’s neutral rather than a sweet treat.
I avoid music when working out.
I restricted my painting supplies to one paint pallet and two brushes only.
I restrict course-related study to 3 hours a day to ensure quality over empty busywork (Parkinson’s law).
What are some changes you have made to minimalise/reduce your habits or daily tasks to help you focus on what’s important?
