Mercury Detox
Hello everyone, So I’ve been having some symptoms for the past year (raw vegan for 2 yrs now) which where getting worse for the last month: fuzzy/foggy brain, eyesight going downhill by the day, ringing in my ears, fatigue, some pins and needle filling come and go on my head to name the main ones. Then I started to read some testimonials about people with similar issues and how mercury poisoning form the amalgams in their mouth where the cause. It all made sense as I still had 2 amalgam fillings in my mouth (for 40+ years) plus a crown with metal on it. I also had a blood test 6 weeks ago and there’s some markers that he talks about it in the book that I mention below that coincide with mine. I purchased the book by Dr. Hal Higgins “It’s all in your head, the link between mercury amalgams and illness” and after that I had the amalgams replaced (by a SMART trained dentist) yesterday. My question is, anyone else experienced this? If you did, how was the recovery? I know we’re all different in terms of our health and immune system, but how long it took to see an improvement in the symptoms? Thanks in advance 🙂

I need help
I've been eating 80/10/10 for one year exactly today. And while some things have improved immensely, my list of foods I'm allergic/intolerant of is growing, and I haven't got many left. I don't know why my histamine/mast cells/whatever is causing it is worsening, but I must be missing something, because that aspect of my health is going the wrong way. Any insight is appreciated.

I’m sorry you’re having health issues…this might sound like a strange question but do you have any amalgam fillings in your mouth?
Feeling healthy?
Are you feeling as healthy as you would like to feel? Are you satisfied, or are you striving? What needs to change for you to make progress towards your goals? I'd love to see people sharing more of such conversations here. Please feel free to chime in.

@Augusto Valerio are you feeling better? Are you resting? I find that drinking a lot of water and resting often really helps me.

@Augusto Valerio a bit better than yesterday and you’re right, mindset is very important. Have a good night :)
Water ?!
I'm a bit puzzled about the statements of some low fat raw vegans (no names here !) regarding the consumption of water : 1 Very few don't consume any water 2 Some trust their thirst and drink when needed 3 Others state that we need water until our gut gets cleaned out of its "dry waste matter", and then the need wanes. 4 Others advocate for a gallon of water a day, as a bare minimum when we eat raw, going up to 2 gallons if we eat cooked food. I lend in the 2nd category, as I tend to drink > 2L during summer and hot days, and about 1L in the cold month of winter. I do urinate about 10 times a day, clean and good amounts, so I guess I should consider myself hydrated ? Is it true that the more we go into the lifestyle, the better hydrated will our body be, and our external water need lessen ? How can it be that we'd need a GALLON a day ? Do our digestive track need that much to work properly ? What would be adverse effects of drinking too much water ? Should we bypass thirst and drink more than what it tells us ? And lastly, what is your personal experience with water consumption ?

What I’ve learned is that coming from 54yrs (I’m 56) of eating cooked foods I tend to drink about a gallon a day aside from the fruits and veggies. I’m guessing after being on raw for many years the body gets sufficiently hydrated and we don’t need to drink that much. But for now, even drinking a gallon, my urine is sometimes dark (I’m guessing lots of toxins being dumped). I try to drink the first 3L before noon (what I’ve read is that the kidneys can process a L an hour safely and I’m sipping so it’s slow). What’s interesting is that after that I hardly have to pee. Then I drink another one in the aft and that’s it. I find that it’s the salad many times that makes me wake up to go to the bathroom at night because I stop drinking water by 5pm.
