I'm a bit puzzled about the statements of some low fat raw vegans (no names here !) regarding the consumption of water : 1 Very few don't consume any water 2 Some trust their thirst and drink when needed 3 Others state that we need water until our gut gets cleaned out of its "dry waste matter", and then the need wanes. 4 Others advocate for a gallon of water a day, as a bare minimum when we eat raw, going up to 2 gallons if we eat cooked food. I lend in the 2nd category, as I tend to drink > 2L during summer and hot days, and about 1L in the cold month of winter. I do urinate about 10 times a day, clean and good amounts, so I guess I should consider myself hydrated ? Is it true that the more we go into the lifestyle, the better hydrated will our body be, and our external water need lessen ? How can it be that we'd need a GALLON a day ? Do our digestive track need that much to work properly ? What would be adverse effects of drinking too much water ? Should we bypass thirst and drink more than what it tells us ? And lastly, what is your personal experience with water consumption ?
