Hi
hi everyone, I'm a 14 year old swimmer who dreams of the big competitions like the OS and world championships and have also struggled with the mental side and hope that this can be the next step towards achieving my dream.

Great question! I've never really a swimmer myself but decided to give it a go lately (having spent most of my free time over the few couple of years poolside!) - kicked off with 1.5km of breaststroke which went surprisingly well! However after doing that a couple of times my knee is super painful and a couple of weeks rest hasn't helped. Obviously my aging bones needed to start more gradually but will try some of these exercises too.

@Ihor Hnatenko ๐Ÿคฃ well that makes me feel better! Now I just need to be able to walk properly again ๐Ÿ˜‰
Competition
Amira's second "normal" competition was an up and down of feelings. She dropped her IM time by two seconds. The first 50m breast were ok, 50,14 which was a 6th place. She didn't get good instruction ahead because for lifesaving she doesn't need breaststroke. Her usually best disciplin, freestyle, was her down today. She had a good start and while turning she slipped off the wall and lost speed. So her time was 3 seconds down to last time. Backstroke went well but she didn't hit the timemat hard enough and lost time because of that. Nevertheless she was third at her age. We went home with new experiences, two medals and a nevertheless partly sad girl.

Always hard to focus on the wins when the disappointments seem so much bigger. I guess this is the lesson to learn - stuff goes wrong but as long as you learn it isn't a wasted experience and you come back tougher ๐Ÿคž
Comeback
My goal is to come back to swimming pools competitively bc my coach put on me a lot of pressure, he insulted me when I was bad and he didn't give me solutions to not swim edgy so during 200 fly I did a good first half and in the second half i completely died and this during all my 200 fly of last year so I never took pleasure (1:08, and 1:28). This anxiety braked me in others races and in particular in long races as 200 and over bc I was afraid before races and I didn't take pleasure to swim so I'm doing a break for one year and next year I would like to come back in swimming and doing again competition. Here are my times of my favorite races: 50 free: 27:68(2024,50m) 100 free: 59:64(2024,50m) 200 free: 2:12:76(2024,50m) 400 free: 4:47:69(2024,50m) 50 breast: 34:94(2024,50m) 100 breast: 1:20:60(2024,50m) 50 fly: 28:83(2024,50m) 100 fly: 1:04:57(2024,50m) (200 fly: 2:31:19)(2023,50m) 200 medley: 2:32:06(2023,50m) 400 medley: 5:20:33(2023,25m)

Competition results
Hi my names Aoife and I'm 12 years old. I had a gala last weekend and I'm really happy with my performance. I got a pb on my 50 breaststroke which I was shocked about cus it's my worst stroke. I dropped 4 seconds in 1 month over 2 galas ! I also got pbs on 3 other races , 100 fly , 200 I'm , 100 back. I've got some more big galas coming up this month and with David's course I'm feeling confident and ready to get some more pbs. I have a few friends in my club who struggle with races anxiety so I shared mind gym with them. I feel alot more confident with no nerves when I go up for my races. I also got 4 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze.
