My dad is 88 with dementia and his rehab is an hour and a half away. I’ll start my day with my daily farmers walk, see my dad for a while and try to have time for another workout in the afternoon. Also going to make spaghetti and meatballs for our family dinner.
30-Day “Farmers Walk” Challenge
I’m always up for ANYTHING that will rally the troops and this 30 day challenge is a perfect way to do so!!! In my mind the real value of doing these types of daily challenge workouts is the accountability they create by forcing a non-negotiable goal specific action. Not only do they improve gains, but they build discipline, too! So I wanna try something out with you guys open to a challenge. For the next month, I want you to take part in this “Farmers Walk Challenge”… The rules are simple: - Designate the distance or sets of failure you’ll do - Rotate the different weights daily (go up then down) - Carry on every set til absolute failure (dropping it) …And - Resting for 30 seconds between each set… If you’re in, which I really hope you are, then reply YES to the survey… Make sure to check out the YouTube video attached for more details… LFG!!! Hands Up, Keep Fighting!!!✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼

I’m in! I’ve been a fan of Weighted walks for a while now, just never did them that far. I’m looking forward to the challenge.

Just did my first 1/2 mile farmers walk with a pair of 25 lb dumbbells. It’s Suppose to be my day off from training so it’s the only thing I did before work. Wasn’t too difficult (had to stop a couple times) but I’m sure I’ll feel it later. I’ll try 30 lbs tomorrow.
Weekend (and Workout) Plans
Chime in with whatever you’ve got going on to be there for your WHY as well as for your training goals! As for me, I’m flying home two days early after a long hard week of hunting in North Dakota. Absolutely smoked from the miles I put in with boots on the ground but can’t WAIT to get back to wife and kids, as well as get back to being more responsive here…

Weekend (and Workout) Plans

I’m away for the weekend with the wife and a few other couples we’re friends with. Nice and relaxing. I’ll be back into it next week and make up for lost time.
Fruit: Yay or Nay?
Who knew something as healthy and delicious as fruit could be such a hot topic of debate? Personally I’m a big fruit guy. It satisfies my sweet tooth, gives me steady energy, and keeps me regular. I do, given the fact that it increases blood sugar, tend to eat more fruit earlier in the day as well as directly before, and after my workouts more so then later in the evening though. I’m curious what your opinion is though. Is fruit a yes or a no in your diet? Don’t forget your daily check-in!!!

I buy frozen berries and, sometimes, sauté them in a pan and put them in plain yogurt. I think it’s more healthy than store bought flavored yogurt. Other times I blend them frozen into a protein shake.

@Gerald Balsam a little bit of olive oil on medium low heat. I do blueberries and mixed berries. Strawberry’s are a little too big unless you slice them up first.
Service your WHY…
Balance is the KEY to thriving, and living an overall enriched life. There are countless guys I know who have accomplished every professional and lifting goal they’ve ever set, however are genuinely unhappy. Why? Because to accomplish each of those goals they failed to prioritize time for the loved ones who could have shared in those accomplishments. So yea, they achieved the “greatness” they wanted, but the riches that you’d think would’ve come with them never materialized. How could they have remedied that? Work your ass of during the week, but put just as much (if not MORE) work into your relationships during both the weekend AND when you’re “off” work. Exhausting? Maybe. Hell, USUALLY!! But this balance is what will 100% be responsible for allowing you to live a happy and ENRICHED existence. With that, I ask, what are you doing today to show up for your WHY?

I did some work around the house, fit in a nice workout (Chandlers new monster shoulder workout + weighted carry’s) and now having a drink with the wife by the fire pit and making steak dinner on the grill tonight for the family Yesterday became an ‘off day’, went to visit my dad in a rehab facility an hour and a half away from me.

@Gerald Balsam thanks so much, I appreciate your thoughts. He’s 88 and is physically failing.
