Creator, trying to help others see what I see when I look at a mosaic floor from 2,000 years ago. Like most people who work with their hands in any craft, after enough time, if you listen it's amazing what you can hear from those original artisans.
Skool Launched! Need Tips on Recording Videos!
I’ve officially launched my Skool community! After getting countless questions from my Instagram followers on how I grew my faceless theme page to over 128k followers, I knew it was time to share everything I’ve learned. At first, I thought about using Discord since it was free, but after talking to some of you—especially one person who said, 'You don’t believe in yourself'—I realized what was holding me back: the fear of taking that first step. Too many of us get stuck there, and I feel it stops us from achieving success. So here I am, taking action. A huge thank you to everyone who helped me push past that fear! Now, I’m asking for advice—how do you all record your videos for your Skool classrooms? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still working on recording mine with me standing next to a whiteboard and using that. I recall Dan Henry saying that you should know your subject well enough to get it over just using a whiteboard. I've been used to presenting live in workshops so it's more intuitive for me. I am still struggling with things like getting the audio right my mantra when I'm recording now appears to be "FFS!" 😆
Misunderstood?
Does anyone else feel misunderstood by their family members and close relatives? It often feels like people have more respect for those with traditional 9-to-5 jobs than for those of us who work from home. They think we are lazy and do nothing all day. Does anybody experience this as well?

Yep, it's tough but understandable, especially if you're not getting the results you would with a conventional job (time spent at work = money). And you know that once you start getting results then that will cause more problems because you're changing the whole dynamic in a relationship 🤔 But then I was a male nurse so I got used to weird looks 😆
Seeking Advice on Structuring Free vs. Paid Communities for a Hyper-Niche Craft Audience (Roman Mosaics, 2nd BC - 6th AD)
I was on the Skool onboarding call recently and I see the sense in going free for my community but here's my question: I'm in a real niche of a niche of a niche of a niche (craft - making mosaics - copying Roman mosaics - 2nd BC - 6th AD) been on it 20 years, the way this rolls is there are no advanced courses, I have one foundation one plus another on drawing the patterns (plus a bunch of subsections for mini courses). Having another, paid community would be repeating the same thing, it's all fundamentals. So, I monetise the implementation, personal guidance from me , 1-2-1 or 1-2-many on zoom. Q. What do you think if I have my free group but then have a group within that community that have paid a fixed amount to get them. I would have no MRR, just the upsell. If I have another paid community for that MRR then questions they ask there would be relevant to all my community and I'd feel I need to keep repeating the answers to my free community. I hope this makes sense!

@George Gonzalez Thanks for taking the time for that reply. Yes, I've been on this about 20 years but it's all been a bit hit and miss in my approach! I got a business coach and I'm pulling it all together using Skool. I do teach in person but I want to sort out the monetisation side. I'm adding clients who have previously paid for my courses into the group and they will have access to my live zoom sessions. Now I get my question! I want to be able to: let people in for free (think I understand how to do that) but then add people who will then automatically be added to the 'paid' section and they will get access to the live sessions by email. I've been slack in not getting my offer page sorted but I think I've been missing knowing where I'm headed with this.

@George Gonzalez thanks again, I'm going to go through those points later today and see how I can implement them. My goal is to get a mrr but I see I just need to start free, have my previously paid people with an upsell for free members who want to join in them, when I get more info sort out the MRR thing later.
How do you use ChatGPT?
I've recently started diving into the wonderful world of ChatGPT and am just starting to see some of the ways it can help me in my coaching, community building, and content creation (not this post of course 🙂). In what ways have you personally used ChatGPT that have been helpful (or even game-changing) for you in growing your community and business?

@Jessica Brown I find it more 'human' in its interaction, especially when I'm trying to find the words to explain some of the more abstract ideas. 🙃

@Dan Johnson no problem, I have found that when I'm trying to explain 'arty' concepts Claude does click onto it better than others I've tried. 👍

I teach mosaic artists to propel their creativity forward by teaching them to see their work from the perspective of ancient mosaicists.
