Finally finding my direction.
This year has been intense to say the least. It has been a healing year for me; which makes it simultaneously one of the best and worst years of my life so far lol. The beginning of the year was rough with lots of transitional phases and just taking one day at a time. I suffered greatly and wondered at times if things would ever get better. I have become stronger and more resilient through my suffering. I have finally found a job that suits me and it seems things are beginning to fall into place for me. I'm just so thankful for this community. I believe wing chun has helped me tremendously. Though I don't post everyday, it has become a part of my morning routine. Just wanted to share my gratitude for finding direction and purpose in my life after living so long without any. Thanks for reading.

8/29/24 morning check in
Just finished with my yoga and meditations followed by 2 rounds of SNT. Felt the buoyancy again when relaxing into the state. Feeling good today. About to read a bit, then mow the yard.

8/28/24 morning check in.
Woke up a bit late today. Did my yoga and meditations followed by 2 rounds of SNT. I'm really starting to get familiar with the subtle energies inside myself. I'm starting to notice that my body seems to move like a boat floating on waves when I relax into the state. I feel a buoyancy about me. I'm noticing my body making small shifts in my pelvic area and I'm trusting the process. Sometimes it feels as if relaxing into the state actually automatically corrects my posture. Thanks for reading.

Sometimes its the small things...
Tired from the weekends work on the house, walking into the plant this morning (about quarte mile from parking into office)...light warmish cool breeze, smell of burnt jet fuel, a rush of previous years memories went thru my mind.....when I stated tech school adjacent to Tulsa International airport and re-fueling, working at St Louis international airport as a re-fueler and now working adjacent to Nashville International airport. Since I started a career in aviation in 1986, as mentioned above, I have been around amazing aircraft...from small 2 seaters to fighter jet, even building F-18, F-15, T-45, C-17 and AV8B Harrier. One of my joys has been aviation and has been a great career thus far from being a hands on mechanic to work force management and now a Tool Designer. back to it...the combination of the warmish cool breeze, smell of burn jet fuel, calm clear mind, centering and taigong as I walked in ... in that moment the Qi started rushing into my body leaving me with a smile and a great sensation of calmness and realization. I had the wonderful opportunity of work with an old British chap that had retired from Airbus in the early '90s and started a 2nd career where I work. This fellow literally worked all his live less 10-12 days. He would say "if you find your aircraft, you will never work a day in your life". Such as @Sifu John Cogan stated in one of his videos, if you are doing what you love...its not work...you are just working as what you love. I know exactly what you mean by your statement Sifu. That said...if you haven't found your 'airplane' as yet, you will and you when you do it is wonderful. Mine...currently my work and building, remodeling a home Thank you for reading... How awesome is Kung Fu

Trying to find my airplane right now. At the moment, it's clearing out invasive species from the land I live on and planting back native. That, and just trusting this path I'm on. Hoping that direction is waiting around the corner to meet me lol. Thanks for posting.
8/26/24 morning check in.
Just finished with yoga, meditations and 2 rounds of Sil Nim Tao. I'm finding myself entering a meditative state as I train. I have been training more slowly as I saw some posts on here of people saying it helps. Doing the form slowly does help me bring more awareness to my internal energy and the movements of the form. I'm starting to enter the state little by little. I find myself going in and out of it. Tension, then relaxed, then tension, then relaxed. Still making progress. Still loving the practice.
