6 ways to increase new members retention
The first week from when the new member joins is the most important to nail down. Here is the 6-step checklist you can use: 1. Have a welcoming open + closed question automated DM 2. Give clear direction in your onboarding process 3. Incentivize people to make their first post inside the community 4. Donā€™t overwhelm new members with loads of action steps 5. Incentivize people on booking a 1-on-1 onboarding call with you 6. Have an email welcome sequence nurturing them back into the community

Want Members to Stay? Create Their ā€˜Aha!ā€™ Moments
If youā€™ve got a Skool community, you know the struggle: people join, hang out for a bit, and thenā€¦ vanish. If it sound familiar, hereā€™s the good news: fixing this can be helped with a "simple" thing šŸ‘‡ Focus on creating ā€œAha!ā€ moments early and often. Whatā€™s an ā€œAha!ā€ moment? Itā€™s when someone realizes, "This is exactly what I needed." "Ok bro", I can hear in the back "how tf do we do that?" - Glad you asked. - š—¦š—¼š—¹š˜ƒš—² š—® š˜€š—ŗš—®š—¹š—¹ š—½š—暝—¼š—Æš—¹š—²š—ŗ (š—™š—”š—¦š—§): When someone joins, donā€™t overwhelm them with tons of content. Focus on solving one specific pain point within their first 24 hours. - Example: fitness group? Help them calculate their macros. Marketing group? Give them a plug-and-play email template. The faster they get a win, the more invested theyā€™ll be. - š—•š˜‚š—¶š—¹š—± š—® š—°š—¹š—²š—®š—æ š—½š—®š˜š—µ: Most people leave because they feel lost. Fix that by giving them a simple roadmap that answers: - What should I focus on this week? - Whatā€™s my next step after that? - Whatā€™s the big win I can expect after sticking around for 90 days? Pro Tip: Break it down into small steps. People love ticking boxes. - š—–š—²š—¹š—²š—Æš—暝—®š˜š—² š—²š˜ƒš—²š—暝˜† š˜„š—¶š—»: Got someone who implemented your advice and got a result? Shout it from the rooftops: post their success in the group, highlight them in a community email, create a ā€œHall of Fameā€ Recognition makes people feel seenā€”and keeps them coming back. āž”ļøReady to Try It? Hereā€™s my challenge for you: 1ļøāƒ£Spend 15 minutes today thinking about the smallest but most impactful win you can give your members in their first week. 2ļøāƒ£Build everything around delivering that Because when your members win, they stay. And when they stay, they bring others. Itā€™s that simple. Whatā€™s your groupā€™s ā€œAha!ā€ moment? Iā€™d love to hear!

@Sylvain Zyssman No, I'm not, but I'm helping creators build and scale one. How about you, I assume you do?

Pt.2: Keep Your Members Engaged With a Calendar!šŸ“… (2/2)
Yesterday, we talked about using your calendar to reduce churn by sharing upcoming features or courses. Today, letā€™s dive into ā€˜how to actually do thisā€™! There are two ways to do thisšŸ¤“ The first way uses the calendar: Create a new event in your calendar,šŸ“… name it something like ā€œNext Community Updateā€ or get a bit more specific, like ā€œNew Course About XYā€ Like Ted Carr does, you can make this event last 24/7, so it stays at the top of your Skool feedšŸ“£ The second way? Write a quick weekly post insteadšŸ“ƒ Basically, share a progress update on what youā€™re working on, like: ā€œWeā€™re 1/3 done with the new course! Canā€™t wait to show you all!ā€ This makes members feel involved, theyā€™re basically witnessing how youā€™re getting closer and closer to publishing itšŸ‘€ This also strengthens their connection to you and your community,šŸ¤ because theyā€™re more involved into the process and what going on bts! Plus it keeps them excited for whatā€™s nextšŸŽ‰ Post these updates in your free community as well. Thatā€™ll make them aware of the things coming to your paid community, so itā€™s basically free advertising, without directly advertisingšŸ’Ž Thanks to @Jan Rebic for the with what @Ted Carr does!

šŸ™‰ Just finished watching Ted Car's journey and Iā€™m beyond inspired šŸŒŸ
Hereā€™s a guy (@Ted Carr ) who went from zero to next-level success by applying a mindset and strategies most people overlook. šŸ’”Hereā€™s what truly struck me šŸ’”: 1ļøāƒ£ Deliberate Law of Attraction Ted isnā€™t waiting for success to find him. He uses the Law of Attraction intentionally, acting as if heā€™s already living his dream lifeā€”heā€™s been doing it since childhood, with soccer, triathlons, and beyond. šŸ› ļøLesson: Feel it, act it, and watch your reality shift. Success starts in your mind. 2ļøāƒ£ Donā€™t Overthinkā€”Just Plan Ted doesnā€™t obsess over following his plans exactly. He believes in planning for planningā€™s sakeā€”setting goals, but knowing things will change along the way. šŸ—ŗļøLesson: Have a plan, but be ready for the adventure that comes with it. 3ļøāƒ£ Proximity is Power Success multiplies when you're in the right rooms. Ted invested in proximity to powerful people, and it paid off massively. Joining @Sam Ovensā€™ Skool wasnā€™t just an investmentā€”it was his gateway to the right connections and mindset. šŸ¤Lesson: Surround yourself with winners. Thatā€™s how you level up. 4ļøāƒ£ Focus on Building a Community, Not Just Selling The magic of Skool isnā€™t just in the content; itā€™s in the community. Ted grew his business by building a space where his audience actively promotes and sells for him. šŸŽÆLesson: People want connection, not just content. Build a community where people help each other succeed. 5ļøāƒ£ Donā€™t Go It Aloneā€”Find a Partner Ted realized the solopreneur myth was holding him back. The breakthrough came when he partnered with someone who helped him scale, creating true freedom. šŸšŖLesson: You need a team. Partnerships and delegation unlock growth. ā™¾ļø WHY THIS RESONATES Ted's story reminds me that success isnā€™t about being the smartest or the most talentedā€”itā€™s about: - Taking action (even when you're not ready). - Surrounding yourself with the right people. - Being willing to learn, fail, and keep pushing.

@Bruno Semedo All of it combined, principles and mindset shifts that helped him achive the success he has now. It's a great reminder on what kind of beliefs makes someone great.
