Not all good habits are useful.
This time of year I do a lot of reflection. I have been working with Lisa Vanderveen in her program and I am doing my end of year review program I do with another coach. And as I do this process one of the questions that comes up is what are you leaving behind in 2024? The work I have been doing in Lisa's program has been helping me see how habit and actions from past situations and experience are still impacting my current circumstances and reality. Something that has come up in both places with this idea that - Not all good habits are useful or serving me. So I am auditing these habits and determining which ones I need to shift or pivot or drop all together. Do you have any habits that are good habits but are no longer serving you? Consider how you can make some changes and see if that creates more space and opportunity for the things you want more of in life. Maybe it's a "should" or three that needs to be let go of. One that is "good" but holding you back. Mine was surprising - my current devotional time and practices are not longer serving me or feeding my soul the way I need them to. It's time to do some things differently. Would love to hear if any of you have good habits that need auditing and adjusting or to be let go of completely.

@Lisa Vanderveen I love this. We do "get to"
How amazing is it that our God is the only God of Love first.
In doing some reading and devotional this morning - I was reminded that of all the religions in the world Christianity is the only one that is LOVE first. All of our interactions with God are through the lens of LOVE. Even when there is correction and discipline - it is through the lens of love. There is no other faith that is so love centric. And being love centric makes ALL the difference. He so LOVED this world and the humans in it - despite their full rejection of that love and relationship - that he did the unthinkable and became human so he could repair forever that broken relationship. That is pretty mind blowing. And this is just a reminder that if you are indeed going to call yourself a Christian - you much proceed LOVE first in all things. Not easy for sure. But that is how we truly walk and act in the image of God. Love first. Have a great weekend!

Telling Stories
My vision is to help as many people as possible write & publish their books to tell their stories or testimonies. As I mentioned in a comment, the foundational verse for my editing & publishing is Revelation 12:11 because in telling our stories--our testimonies--we really do overcome AND help others overcome. I'm totally convinced that nothing is ever wasted with God. Everything we experience can help others in His Kingdom. It's the perfect way to flip the script on the enemy, don't you think?šŸ˜‰ God gifted me to encourage, help, & connect others for His glory & for our good. Please let me know what I can do to help any of you. I just cannot thank @Angela Linville enough for creating this amazing community & connecting all of us to better serve the Kingdom. We definitely are better together!šŸ’œ

Your mess and success is someone else's guide book to the other side of their mess. This is why we must - imperatively - share our stories. It literally is a matter of life and death. I believe this strongly. And love that you are using your industry and talents as your mission driven purpose. This is how we serve the Kingdom and make deeper impacts.
Obstacles are visible, stumbling blocks seem to appear out of nowhere
Thought that I had today as I was walking the dogs and stumbled on what appeared to be nothing or maybe a small shift in the pavement. It just happened, all of the sudden. I couldn't see it ahead of me. And I have walked this way a million times and never tripped. This got me thinking about our spiritual journey. Obstacles we can see ahead of us. Sometimes they are enemy created, sometimes we throw them into our own path. Sometimes they just are part of living in this beautiful but broken world. But we can always see them. We can feel them. They are tangible and clearly block our path. Stumbling blocks are those "surprise" tripping points. The ones that seem to raise up out of the path when we least expect it. They can make us stumble or even go sprawling. Because they take us by surprise and usually pop up right when we are starting to feel good or make progress or step into our power - we assume they are their to block us and we make them an obstacle. The whole mountain out of a mole hill idea. So maybe that thing you think is holding you back or slowing you down - isn't really an obstacle, it's just a stumbling block you weren't expecting and it has made you lose focus on your path and instead focus on this one small thing that is really very easy to step over. Just a random (possibly ramble) thought that came up today as I walked the dogs and am walking out my spiritual journey. It has stuck with me today so I felt called to share it.

Impact VS Income: The Truth About What Christian Entrepreneurs Really Want
Letā€™s talk about something many Christian entrepreneurs wonā€™t admit: We say things like, ā€œI donā€™t care about money; I just want to make a bigger impact.ā€ And we mean itā€”impact is why weā€™re here. Itā€™s why we work hard, why we push through challenges, and why we stay committed to the mission God gave us. But letā€™s be honest. Itā€™s not just about impact. Deep down, many of us do care about income. Not for selfish reasons, but because we want to: ā€¢ Bless our families with security and freedom. ā€¢ Grow our businesses so we can reach and serve more people. ā€¢ Give generously to our communities, churches, and ministries. Hereā€™s the thing: thereā€™s nothing wrong with desiring financial abundance if your heart is in the right place. Money isnā€™t the problem. Itā€™s a toolā€”a resource God can use through you to multiply your impact. The problem is we often feel like admitting we care about income makes us less spiritual. But thatā€™s not true. When you pursue financial success with integrity, it becomes a means of creating lasting change. So, letā€™s stop pretending weā€™re above caring about money. Instead, letā€™s focus on stewarding it well. You can prioritize impact and trust God to provide the income to sustain it. The two arenā€™t at oddsā€”they work together. Be honest with yourself. Dream bigger. Pursue both impact and income, and trust God to use you to make a difference that lasts. What are your thoughts on this?

Oh! The money conversation is one that needs to be had until we stop acting like having money is inherently bad. I was challenged a few years ago to listen to the way we talk about money and those that have it. It was an eye opening exercise. In 1 Thessalonians today Paul talks about earning a good income for the work You do to take care of yourself AND help provide for others. It jumped out at me today (because I have been working on my money story and relationship) that he says - to take care of yourself (first) and then others. Great conversation and one that needs to be had more.
