Alternate Nostril Breathing
This is no doubt a dumb question but I’m going to ask anyway 😊 how does Alternate Nostril breathing down regulate your nervous system? If my understanding is correct, one nostril stimulates and the other calms. So if you are using a constant breath for inhale and exhale, wouldn’t you stay as you as you are? Or is it a case of having a coherent breath will bring the nervous system into balance just by balancing the breath? I can understand a longer exhale bringing about down regulation, but haven’t quite got my head around this

Wins (Week 3)
Continues with the IRV/ERV stretch (x3) and have noticed that my thoracic rotation has improved slightly which is a nice win Also, I’ve managed to move onto CO2 Performance Level 3 and have achieved that fully once and the second time I pretty much did (lasted 1m 20s on the last breath after 15s recovery)

Wins (Week 2)
I’ve been away in Ireland this week which has thrown me off a lot with routine. However, whilst this would usually cause me to just say fuck it and write the week off, I was still able to do 3x CO2 Performance Retention (Level 2), 2x 30/30/10 and 3x IRV/ERV Stretches I’ve also noticed that with the CO2 performance, the 1 minute holds are getting easier and I reckon in another week or so I will be able to have a go at the level 3

@Ryan Carroll Hard to say with being outside of routine but if I look back on how I would have handled this before, I got through a tough week more easily Biggest thing I’ve noticed from the last week has been I’m not quite so stiff in my upper back which is a big win for me and shows that the breath mobility stuff is making an impact

@Adrienne C Thank you. Yeah, I’m pleased that I managed to do so. In the past, I wouldn’t have been able to and would have wrote the week off
IRV/ERV Stretch
I’ve noticed when doing the IRV/ERV stretch that when I do anything rotational (as in opening up the thoracic spine), I get a lot of feedback and tightness in my lower back Before I do the stretch I follow the vides to release the lats, pecs, intercostals and open up the thoracic. Is it worth doing a bit of work on opening up the lower back and hips too beforehand? If so are there are mobility drills anyone can suggest that they find helpful?

🚨Zoom Postponing
I am having some Pura Vida issues here at the moment (internet is down again) and my cellular hotspot doesn’t do the job for Zoom. So I am just going to post pone this call and drop a recording later this week. Who will be on the next call Saturday, Sept. 14th?
