Progress photos
Team, I’ve been reluctant to take my progress photos, but today I did and while the scale says one thing, the photos to me say another. I may only be just over a kilo down in weight and maybe that’s just /mainly water weight rather than ‘fat loss’ taking the photos and comparing side by side has been great. Still a long way to go 😔, but the reminder or reality check is useful, the comparison is useful and I think I’ve made progress towards being a better - more functional, more efficient, less fluffy - me over the last few weeks What could I have done had a dialled in tho I wonder 🧐 Anyway…off to work and then off to HyRox. Have a great day y’all ❤️ & 🍾 🤜 💥 🤛 🫡

Well done mate! The number on the scale is only one measure. How you feel is a far stronger outcome
Intro
Hi, Carl here. Delighted to join what is clearly a like-minded group. Keen to get healthier and fitter to be there for my kids in ten years’ time. Two years post ACL surgery and apparently not very good at following physio regimes, so there’s Challenge no 1! Still hanging around on FTRS service with the Army - know Tom from school and also Matt T. (Is it too late to pretend he recruited me for the stash bonus?! 🤣)

@Thomas Collins this one time at band camp
Introduction
Hi there team, thank you for this amazing opportunity! I’m a British Army veteran of 22 years & I had the honour of serving with Tom! I have various injuries from this career, but I do my best to stay active. Recently moved to Spain with my fiancée & our dogs, so the current task is wading through the bureaucracy involved with getting my visa. This weekend I’ve been in Estonia with the Invictus Games Foundation, as we entered 3 teams in the 70.3 relay event (I did the run in 1hr45 & 28degree heat), so very grateful to be part of this. Tomorrow I start my 2 day journey to return home. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone, increase my knowledge & keep pushing forward 🙂

Prep to race in Birmingham
Really excited to be starting to train specifically for Birmingham HYROX in October... going to be a lot of lunges, burpees and wall balls over the next 8 weeks... Anyone else got any races planned?

@Rob Fell good thanks. Had a little bout of illness so had a light week recovering but back to it today and head down for a 4 week slog before taper. Just finished an hour power builder set on bike, having been up at 04:50 for an hours swim before work. (After a night where Henry had me up at at 01:00 and 02:00 and I only got back in my bed at 04:10..: so definitely back in to the training with a crash.
Charity ride
So 168km down of the 300km Charity ride for Young Loves vs Cancer, legs are in the hurt locker most days but powering forward each day Striving to make the 24km ride per day x
