Urine drinking questions
@Brenda Green or anyone else who do UT: do you know if we should drink only the fresh urine of the moment? For example, not drink morning pee at night because it might contain things that wake me up? And is pee something that we should only drink in small amounts? Last question, to those who do footbath on a regular basis: how do you store the pee in between? and for how long do you keep it? I've used the same batch 4-5 times, but it starts to age pretty quick and now it smells super strong. When I do a footbath the entire appartment smells... Not sure if I should throw it away.

@Elizabeth Butterfly some of the answers here may help as well.
Is it possible to drink too much fresh urine? + a couple other pee Q's
Hello! Really glad to get connected with this group. I've just begun drinking my fresh urine, as well as using as eye drops, swishing & doing enemas in the last 24-48 hours. I find that I can drink it without aversion most of the time, perhaps because I've been on a deep microbiome cleanse for the past two years straight, and already do 2x daily enemas etc. I'm sooo curious how this will shift things and already feeling some more satiety (not as starved for food) which is amazing. Three questions I have off the bat: 1. Is it okay for me to drink my urine even though I am currently actively detoxing toxic heavy metals? 2. How much is too much urine to drink? Is it okay to be drinking all day every time I pee or is that way too much for a body just beginning this process? 3. Can I use my urine to water plants and/or add to my cat's drinking bowl, or is it only medicinal for me? Thank you!

@Megan Macdonald can answer the best. Yes on the 3rd question, dilute with water for plants. You can add it to the cat dish. I haven't tried that, I have given it to cats with a syringe, mixed with a tiny amount of ginger water...one cat eats a poisonous plant outside sometimes. It saved her twice. You can see an immediate improvement. My oldest cat, it helped her tremendously.
Liver cleanse and Oil Massage?
During the 5 days of preparation for the liver flush, is it recommended to avoid putting oil on the skin due to it being absorbed into the tissues and still adding to the liver load to process it? What are the best foods to eat during these 5 days? Broths, salads, green juices, kitchari without ghee? I heard that it’s best not to do a water/pee fast leading up to the flush. Can someone explain the reason? @Cate Stillman @Club Thrive Global @Brenda Green

Yes, try to leave fat out for the prep time (including the oil for skin) the liver shifts its focus from processing dietary fats to softening and loosening the bile and potential build-up within its pathways. This creates a perfect environment for the flush to work its magic. Myself personally, if I felt I needed a very small amount of fat to better sustain myself (usually 1 or 2 of those days it seems necessary for me). Depending on the season you are in, you can go towards the warmer foods or cooling foods as you have listed above. We usually avoid meat as well, so the broth may be better after the flush or just using a vegetable broth in its place during your prep days. The fasting, if you are vata, fasting may be too drying while prepping for the liver flush. You can test it out this time around and see how you do. As you noticed, Cate offered the FMD leading into the liver cleanse and some people did that process. I feel that the urine and adding in daily green juices or smoothies helped with hydration and also makes the fasting easier. If it feels right to you to do the water/pee fast first, I would try it. @Megan Macdonald any recommendations?
Histimine intolerance - from the 10/11/24 live call - some info
@Flora Sanchez I heard you bring this up on Lynne's call. But I didn't hear an actual question. Can you post that? I have some info: Probiotic Choices: While fermented foods are beneficial for gut health, their high histamine content makes them unsuitable for histamine-sensitive individuals. Instead, choose specific probiotic strains that have low histamine-producing potential, such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium infantis. A liver cleanse may be the most effective approach to overcome it all together. If a person is pitta dosha, lower percentages of fermented or cultured foods is key. Like only 5% compared to 15% of diet and tuning inward to notice when the body needs to skip fermented a day or two. It takes a bit more creative effort to incorporate microbiome foods while balancing an imbalance.

@Yulia Azriel pitta dosha may only tolerance a much smaller percentage of fermented foods. Cultured foods maybe better or trying miso. It takes some experimenting to see what foods work best and in what amounts. She may not have histamine intolerance.
Liver cleanse
This is my second liver cleanse and I am happy with the results.
