When I’ve worked with people in the past and encouraged them to build the habit of reading just 10 pages a day (usually before bed), they’ve often laughed at me.
“I don’t really see the point in that to be honest.”
“What difference will that make to my life?”
“I’d rather just play on my phone, I can’t lie.”
All of these are natural reactions and seem logical.
That is until you think about the compound effect and long term benefits of reading 10 pages a day.
In 1 year, if you read just 10 pages every day, on average you’ll have read 12 books.
TWELVE!
That’s 12 more than the non-readers and potentially tonnes more of life changing information that will give you the edge over others.
In those 12 books could be just ONE sentence that you find useful.
But in that ONE sentence you may find the key to a problem you’ve been facing for years.
If you hadn’t have read every single day, you would still be trying to work out the answer to that question.
This will put you MILES ahead of others.
If you do one thing today, read just 10 pages of a book.
Reading teaches patience, calmness and shows you how to be at peace WITHOUT the constant need for technology.
As well as all this, if you do it before bed the positive effect on your sleep will be remarkable.
You will wake up fresh and energised instead of groggy from the blue light from screens before bed.
Start this habit today and see how much you grow in a short space of time!
