Do you do in-person or virtual estimates? We try to do in-person estimates almost every time. For our washing company, I would not do it any other way. My sales guys might go for a call to wash siding, but they rarely only sell what was asked for. Our average ticket price goes up 35% with in-person estimates, and so do our closing rates. We will give a ballpark over the phone for our floor coatings to ensure they are not expecting a multi-hundred job when it will be multi-thousands. We always go in person when the caller is okay with a ballpark. Christmas lights are always in-person. If you don't go in person, how could you ever build great package options that you can use to push the homeowner towards getting more work done than they called for?
