@Alvis Ciritis I was really just trying to get some conversation going. We use Indeed and write the ads to be fun and full of company culture to make people want to leave where they are to join our team.

@Alvis Ciritis We will do around $700K in coatings, I have a house washing company that does $960K and a Landscape/Christmas light company that did about $430K

One on the best ways to find new employees.
Pool/Spa
Client wants to remove the mosaic tile on top and sides of his spa (see picture). He wants to do something other than tile and is wondering if there is a system that could work for this? Any recommendations?

have you ever done pool decks yet?
IN PERSON or VIRTUAL ESTIMATES?
Do you do in-person or virtual estimates? We try to do in-person estimates almost every time. For our washing company, I would not do it any other way. My sales guys might go for a call to wash siding, but they rarely only sell what was asked for. Our average ticket price goes up 35% with in-person estimates, and so do our closing rates. We will give a ballpark over the phone for our floor coatings to ensure they are not expecting a multi-hundred job when it will be multi-thousands. We always go in person when the caller is okay with a ballpark. Christmas lights are always in-person. If you don't go in person, how could you ever build great package options that you can use to push the homeowner towards getting more work done than they called for? What do you do?

No need to ask the size as you can find it all online. Google your countys name with GIS after it. Every county has one, and they tell you everything about the home, who owns it, sizes, taxes, etc. To manage expectations, I usually talk about an oversized garage we have done and drop a high price tag to get them thinking ahead of time its not going to be cheap, then when you give them a price much lower, it sounds like more of a deal. I use an iPad with lots of pics of great-looking floors for them to start lusting after, as well as pics of the entire installation process. I go through all the processes before ever giving a price. Once you give the price just shut up and wait for a response. Then if they don't faint I ask them what questions they may have and tell them I have an opening in the schedule in 9 or 10 days. Even if I don't have any jobs lined up. Limited availability sells too.
Driveway
Do any of you guys fix driveways like this one? If so what’s the best approach?

We do not warranty driveways so we do not do many. Since you can not control the snowplow going by and hitting it , the delivery guys, etc, we just don't warrant it.

@Lars Simonson If it is an overlay, we just walk away and so no thanks, and go on to the next job. It is not as bad as tackling a stamped concrete job, but there are too many things to go wrong.
