Spring Weeks

Hi all, I know Spring Weeks applications are coming fast/here and I am well aware of their importance. If I am realistic I believe my CV/Application is missing/lacking in qualifications, experience etc. Hence I am sceptical of my chances of securing a position this time round and probably need my first year of uni to further my profile. Could anyone shed some light on/detail the best strategy/process of still trying for IB without a first year Spring Week.
