Being Gassy
Hi 811 Community, Hi Doug, I’ve been on 811 since about 6 months and since about 3 months I have been very gassy. During the first 3 months I was also gassy from time to time, but not this consistently. My diet has been: 2000kcal Banana Smoothie 500kcal Oranges 300kcal Avocados 50kcal Leafy greens Sometimes changing Avocados for Chia seeds, and for the first 3 months I was eating persimmons instead of oranges. Sometimes also exchanging the Avocados for Hemp. I have no idea what to do, and it’s bothering me. It smells really bad and im also bloated. Doug: I saw on one of your videos/ posts that overeating could be an cause for this. With overeating are you referring to overeating what the capacity of your stomach can handle in one sitting, or eating more than your daily needs within the course of your meals? Another notion: I use a high speed blender for my banana smoothie. Could it be speeding up their oxidation so that the smoothie starts turning to alcohol within my intestines? For a week i went off the fats and proteins like avocados, chia seeds and hemp, just to test wether they could be the issue, but there was no or minimal change. I don’t believe to little water intake is the issue, as I drink quite frequently. Equates to approximately 3L per day Would really appreciate some help 🙏

Other Information Sources
Hi 811 Community, Hi Doug, Which other people or sources of information do you follow and/or find respectable regarding a raw diet? Apart from 811 the book, and this community I personally look at john rose.

@Rudolf Osman what total caloric intake does that equate to? and what’s the protein %? been having trouble exceeding 5% protein intake.
85/5/10
Hey everyone, I have been raw now since 5 months and 85/5/10 is what my calorie ratio has settled at, due to the produce readily available to me. I am getting a little worried though, that according to 811 im on the lower side of protein intake. Does anyone have any experience if it is too low or not? I live in Germany, and in the winter im having a hard time coming by affordable fruit in the higher >5% protein range. For my main fat source I prefer avocados over nuts, as my digestion, energy and moods seem to prefer them. Open for any tips :)) Fyi, my current diet: 2400kcal bananas 500kcal oranges 300kcal avocado 70kcal parsley/dill/koriander 40kcal tomato

@Thibaut Louvel had no idea seeds are easier to digest. after i started to only eat fresh ingredients excluding nuts, seeds etc. (only using avocados as a fat source, as i don’t have access to fatty fruits) and i once ate cashews again cause i didn’t have any ripe avocados anymore, my digestion directly started complaining. someone mentioned to me that nuts bought with their shell still intact aren’t dried using high temperatures, which might make them easier to digest. haven’t tried it yet though.

@Dareios Katsanikakis might be a good idea to up my greens intake. it is a bit to costly for me, so i started growing black bean sprouts. curious to see how my digestion reacts to them.
