Training Activities While Injured
Hi Everyone, Hope you all are doing well. Unfortunately, I recently tore my MCL and meniscus in my left knee during practice. I use crutches outside of the house. As well as going to physical therapy , but around the house I can walk around with a brace and bend my knee slightly. I’ve been out for about one month now and have another 2 to 3 months before I can get back on the ice. I’m going kinda crazy at this point not being able to practice or play on the ice. I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on different training, activities, or exercises that I might be able to do that would keep my skills up. I’d also love to hear if anyone who has had a similar injury had any tips they found helpful during their injury recovery. Thanks so much!

@Brian Grant thanks so much for the advice. I really appreciate it.
Increasing Endurance
I just finished my last game of my summer league and my fall season is starting soon. I realized that one of my biggest weaknesses currently is my endurance. I start off strong but by the end of the game I am just completely gassed. Does anyone have any on or off ice suggestions for how to increase this?

Aside from my CCM shin guards all my gear is Bauer down to my base and I’d say about 85% of my back up gear is as well. Nothing against CCM I just started with Bauer, it fits better in almost every case for me, and I just enjoy the brand. Also green biscuit, lizard tap, and Howies.

@Luke Croucher definitely worth a try. Took me a few attempts to get the hang of applying it well. However, there some short videos online that I wish I had watched before making a bit of a mess out of my first take. Also, another thing that I noticed is, you need to be a bit conscientious of how wide you go taping your knob before you apply the tape if you like to have one. If it's too wide, the adhesive back cap won't cover it entirely, and then the edges tend to start to peal up and wear much faster. Overall though, I've been really happy with it. I enjoy the grip feel, and they don't seem to wear on the gloves as hard compared to classic tape.
laces
i have non waxed laces that are the basic brand from pure hockey but after a game or two i find them ripping really easily does anyone have any recommendation of lace brands or any way to stop them from ripping. (i don't use anything extra to tighten them just my hands)

@Ryder Hughes I definitely second that. Never had any complaints with Howies waxed laces.
