100% agree and part of my PD during my morning routine. Playing catch up this week after a chaotic week and a half of unplanned house-related projects (leaking roof, damaged window, redo drywall, replace hot water heater, septic back up, water outage, pool turned green, lawn overgrown)…. still grateful in the trials because I’m blessed to have a home, family to help me, employment that allows me to afford the repairs and health to be able to work on the projects. Just another day in the valley over here. LOL! But, podcasts and online content are ALWAYS great for putting things back in perspective, realigning priorities and helping to reset. Definitely helping to get me thru the chaos and back on track.
Questio out
Would you class doing the garden, mowing the lawn as an extra workout? If not why not, you are moving, you are getting your heart rate up, it does not always have to be about the gym or the workout, Just something for thought.

100% full body workout every weekend doing yard work - here in Florida it rains so much that mowing, weeding, trimming, etc is easily a weekly requirement. Nothing is so satisfying as being able to sit down and admire the work when it’s done. Even if I’m exhausted.
Deep Dive Self Analysis - RTM Podcast
If y’all have not listened to JB’s podcast this morning, I highly recommend you do. A ton of perspective and a strong reminder on why we are here in the RTM group to begin with. It is tough to look at that man in the mirror sometimes and really just cut the BS excuse making and take accountability that every decision we make (whether positive or negative) brings a consequence and we really do reap what we sow. Not just for ourselves, but for our families, friends, etc. RTM! Lead yourself, so you can lead them, and the example you live out may encourage them to do the same. It starts with taking a real hard look at who we are, what’s been holding us back, and how we can move forward. I rate myself between a 6 and 8 (NO 7’s I know) on my pillars, on most days, but am striving for a low of 8. Where are you? And how can you raise those numbers?

Mission & Standards
For a man pursuing success, can you have a mission without standards? Or standards without a mission? Or do both need to work hand-in-hand. A life mission is the energy in our lives, bringing purpose and direction, and allowing us to embrace life more fully. Standards are the vehicle, the delivery mechanism that allows you to achieve the mission. If you have a life mission but no standards, the likelihood is that the mission will never be accomplished. Imagine a high-priority military mission needing highly trained soldiers. Would that mission be accomplished by untrained soldiers without ingrained standards? No, those soldiers need high standards to accomplish the mission. But if you have high standards and no mission, could you become complacent because they’re not directed toward any outcome? For me, the mission and the standards work hand-in-hand. The mission is vital for direction, purpose, and energy, and the standards are vital to achieving the mission in the first place. Both of these subjects will be covered at the Remember The Mission Summit in November, where over 100 men will learn how to build their life mission and the standards to achieve it. 100% accurate statement here —> “But if you have high standards and no mission, could you become complacent because they’re not directed toward any outcome?”. I’ve struggled with this in the past but have really been focusing on my “why” and working on writing down my short/long term goals to keep me focused on where I’m going. Great stuff, brother!

I used to allow anxiety to cripple me and would go into freeze mode, but over the years I’ve become better at winning the day in advance thru my morning routine (right mindset) and recognizing what my triggers are. Realizing that it is a temporary thing that will pass, and dealing with it head on (rather than avoiding triggers or pushing things down) have been huge. Every time I face it is another win. Now, I recognize it, reframe, reset and resume what I was doing. It does not control me. And @Jamaal Spell being grounded in your faith and putting Him first in everything, is key in my opinion. Though the weapon may be formed, it will not prosper.
