Being Hard On Yourself Doesn't Make You Stronger
I want to talk to you about something we don't often give ourselves permission to do, especially when life feels like it's just too much: being gentle with ourselves. I know how hard that can be, especially when the weight of everything we're going through makes it feel like we're barely keeping our heads above water. But here's the truthβ€”self-compassion isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. It's not a soft option or something we should only do when things are going well. It's the best thing we can offer ourselves, especially during the storm. It's easy to slip into self-criticism when life gets hardβ€”and I mean gut-wrenchingly hard. We start telling ourselves that we're not strong enough, that we should handle things better, and that if only we were tougher, smarter, and more resilient, we wouldn't feel this way. But I need you to hear this: being hard on yourself doesn't make you stronger. It just makes the pain harder to bear. And here's the thing: we can't heal what we refuse to feel and grow when we're at war with ourselves. Being gentle with yourself is not about letting yourself off the hook. It's about recognizing that you are humanβ€”you're allowed to feel tired, overwhelmed, and afraid. It's about acknowledging that you're doing your best with what you have. And sometimes, that "best" doesn't look like much. Sometimes, it's just getting through the day. But that is still enough. Let's talk about what gentleness looks like because it feels foreign for so many of us. It might look like giving yourself permission to rest when you're exhausted, even if a part of you says you don't deserve it. It might look like choosing to speak to yourself with kindness when you only want to beat yourself up for not having it all together. It might look like holding space for your grief, your anger, and your frustration without trying to rush through it or bury it. And I get it. Being gentle with ourselves can feel so uncomfortable. We've been taught to believe that toughness is strength and that pushing through pain is a badge of honor.

Coming Home to Peace Profound
What if we already have everything we need inside of us? What if, deep down, there’s a voiceβ€”an inner guidance system we call wisdom? It’s that steady, knowing presence within us, guiding us toward what’s true, even when life feels chaotic. This wisdom is the essence of who we areβ€”our soul, our beingβ€”and it’s constantly nudging us toward peace, connection, and authenticity. But so often, we get in our own way. We deny this wisdom when we choose fear over trust. We doubt it when shame creeps in, telling us we’re not enough. We distort it by bending to the expectations of others, diluting it when we compromise our values just to fit in. Sometimes, we even pollute it by letting negativity and judgment take over our hearts and minds. When we disconnect from this inner guidance, from the wisdom that’s uniquely ours, we feel lost, overwhelmed, and out of alignment with who we truly are. This disconnection is at the root of so much of our painβ€”whether it’s addiction, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or overthinking. The path to healing is about returning to that inner wisdom and trusting it. And when we do, something beautiful happensβ€”we find what I call "peace profound." It’s not just fleeting calm or a moment of relief; it’s a deep, abiding sense of peace that anchors us in the truth of who we are. Peace profound is that state of being where we’re no longer swayed by external chaos, because we’re rooted in our essence. When we start to listen to our inner guidance and honor it, we align with our true selves. And in that alignment, we discover profound peaceβ€”a peace that holds us steady even when life feels messy. This kind of peace doesn’t come from having all the answers or controlling every outcome. It comes from trusting our wisdom, showing up authentically, and allowing ourselves to be guided by that deep well of knowing within us. Peace profound is the gift of living in alignment with your essence, trusting your wisdom, and finding the courage to follow where it leads.

Every Time You Say 'I Am'...
Every time you say the words 'I am' you express an identity. So, moment of truth... what is the last thing you have said about yourself? Think about when you last said 'I am' and comment below what you said right after 'I am'.

Who are you BEing?
@Christine Szinner said something so brilliant a few weeks ago that it hasn't left my head since. She was sharing her story with me. Christine said that the turning point for her making lasting change was realizing that it isn't about what she is DOING but who she is BEING. 🀯🀯🀯 It was one of those deceptively simple but actually profound statements that changed everything. It took root deep within my psyche and blossomed from there. She shifted my beliefs with that one sentence! This morning, I caught myself policing my behavior. I know that going for a walk first thing in the morning is one of the best things I can do for myself. It sets my day up for success in a way that nothing else can. But lately, I haven't been going. I've felt tired in the morning. "I'll walk later," I'll say. But many days, later never comes! This morning, I caught myself. "I don't wanna," and all the associated negative self-talk ("Why are you so lazy?") quickly turned into "Who do you want to BE?" The answer came instantly. I want to be the person who sets herself up for success as soon as she gets out of bed. πŸ’ͺ🏼 Suddenly, a walk sounded wonderful, and I wanted nothing more! Thank you, Christine, for helping me be the Leader I want to be. πŸ’–
