There are so many apps, the market is saturated...
I was doing some market research for a few of my app ideas, and wow, I found so many similar apps to my ideas that I almost thought I was crazy. It put me in a bad mood since, for basically every idea I had, I found there were already tons of very good apps available in the App Store. The keyword research was also brutal. But then, in the evening, the MacStories Selects 2024 article came out, and I read it. I noticed that many of the apps featured on the list are part of saturated markets (like PDF scanner apps, save-for-later apps or movie tracker apps, etc.). This gave me hope that if my solution solves a real-world problem, I should still build it.

A few days ago, I was discussing on a forum where I mentioned that even a simple todo app can generate income if it’s unique and provides value to users. Someone replied to me, 'You’re right. I’ve tried many todo apps, and now I’m paying for ??? todo app. If they managed to get someone from Serbia to pay for it, you can imagine how good the app is. There is space for everyone!
Apple dev program
Hello, i know this is not apple support forum but i guess many of already have dev accounts or you already saw this kind of questions so you can help me. :) I signed up for the Apple Developer Program 15 days ago, but I haven’t received any updates on my enrollment. A few days ago, I attempted to sign up again and contacted support three days ago, but I still haven’t received a response. I initially enrolled via the web, but I’m unable to re-enroll through the Apple Developer app with this email. To troubleshoot, I created a new Apple ID, and from that new account, I can proceed with enrollment via the app. My question is, should I attempt to enroll with my new Apple ID? And if so, would I be at risk of being charged twice if my original account is eventually approved, resulting in two active subscriptions?

@Lorin-Patrick Nicolae I resolved the issue with Apple support, but I think I was lucky to come across an exceptionally helpful support agent who genuinely wanted to assist me and succeeded. I had the exact same issue and tried enrolling with two accounts (via the web and the app) and submitted two tickets to support. One agent responded with, "contact iTunes support," while the other actually resolved my issue. Altogether, it took 15 days to resolve the problem. Let them pray they come across someone willing to put in the effort to solve the issue.

@Lorin-Patrick Nicolae As I remember, I initially tried to enroll via the web, but after two weeks, I contacted support to ask what was happening. During those two weeks, I couldn’t enroll via the app because I had already started the enrollment process on the web, which caused the "Enroll Now" button to be greyed out. Support responded and reset my enrollment so I could try enrolling via the app. I attempted again through the app, but I encountered an error: "Unsuccessful payment, contact iTunes support." I informed them about this issue, and they asked me to verify my identity and notify them once the upload(i uploaded passport) was complete. I followed their instructions, and after they verified my identity, the purchase was successful within 24 hours, and my enrollment was finalized. So, enrollment is done via web cause app wouldn't take my money of the account.
100 days of content challenge
I'm starting 100 day challenge for content creation. Challenge is dumb simple, but hard. I already did it for a few weeks in October. Now I will push it to 100 days. So, here it is: Spend 100 minutes per day working on the content, do that for 100 days in a row. I wrote how to start in newsletter. In short, Start with comments, when you are ready spend 100 minutes per day creating content. 100 minutes per day should be enough to create One of those: - 1 Short form video - 1 Thread on X (Twitter) - Linkedin post - Redit Post Long form videos on YouTube are tricky. It's hardly posible to publish good daily YouTube video and still keep doing anything else. Do not become daily vloger, 1 video per week is enough. With 100 minutes per day it is possible to publish weekly video and still have spare time for posts on Twitter, Instagram or any other platform of the choice. This is what I will do for the next 100 days. Whish me a luck :) Are you in as well?

This is a very smart idea for attracting users. I am currently building an app that may struggle to gain traction through ASO, but I hope to achieve many downloads through short memes on TikTok because it’s a very niche app, and I can’t even find appropriate keywords for it that aren’t highly competitive.

@Aivars Meijers Agree. I published two apps on app store recently and ASO is not working at all for now :D Picking low traffic keyword(10-20 search volume) with low competition level(30/100) is not helping for now. I don't know how much time it has to pass in order to ASO start working but as i heard, it should be in few days. Building brand is the best way to grow your app.
I’ve launched my new app, ScubaPlan, on the App Store 👌🤿
Hey devs! Two weeks ago, I launched my new app, ScubaPlan, on the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch Ultra. It’s designed for recreational divers, with the goal of enabling dive planning and using that plan on the Apple Watch Ultra as a secondary dive computer. Although I’m still in the process of getting Apple’s (absurd) permission to access the depth sensors on the Apple Watch Ultra up to 40 meters (currently, I can only retrieve data up to 6 meters…), the initial version is already available with several features, including dive computer mode. I really don’t understand Apple’s stance on this—it just doesn’t make sense. I’m still optimizing the ASO and learning along the way, so any advice on that would be greatly appreciated. The design and development are 100% my own, and I’m currently in the process of replacing the app’s icon with a professional one. I like the current one, but it’s a bit too simple. On another note, I might soon be without client projects and am considering dedicating myself 100% to my own projects, starting with this one, and trying to generate income that way. Thank you so much! I’m really excited about the launch and hope you like it. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scuba-diving-plan/id6689517716

@Arturo Carretero Calvo Both are PERFECT and far better than old one. Second one is maybe better cause it represent water, idk, just my opinion.
12 Week Challenge: $1 to $50 MRR (Week 8+9)
Previous: Week 0 (Introduction), Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, Week 5+6, Week 7 ### Status * Week 8 * 🟠 Impressions 2.4k (-3%) * 🟢 MRR $27 (+150%) * Week 9 * 🟢 Impressions 1.8k (+36%) * 🟢 MRR $33.85 (+25%) ### Tactics last week * ✅ Spend 5hrs on next feature release * ❌ Review if tactics need scaling * 🟠 Reach out to 3 content creators ### Wins * Shipped a new release with an overhaul of a core functionality * I’m getting a lot of great suggestions from my user Discord! * Fixed a long-standing bug – again with the help of a user. ### Next I’ve got two more weeks to hit my target of $50 MRR. I need around 16 new subscribers to hit the target. I’ve got nine subscribers on a free trial at the moment. Usually, I get ~5 new trials per week. So, it should be doable. On the other hand, I’m starting to get a bit tired of marketing. I’ve come to the end of content creators to reach out to, posted on the major social media platforms, and promoted in other places. I’m not sure how much more I can do to increase traffic! Thank you all for your suggestions along the journey.
