I was trying a yoga session at home and it has a lot of chanting/mantra throughout. First time, even though I was home alone I felt incredibly conscious of not being loud - my neighbours might hear! 👂 felt awkward too. I tried it again a few weeks later (and maybe it helped that I knew my neighbours were away) but I just followed along and during one of the HHHHHUUUUUTTTTTT said loud and pushing breath out with it I felt something clear in my throat. It was an incredible feeling. I often get a croaky voice, it’s my weak spot, but it hasn’t been as croaky as much since this release. I’m curious about it and will try the exercise again. It has opened me up to the power of voice, vibration and a different use of breath.

💦 Pee in the middle of the night 💦
It’s been awhile since I haven’t needed to get up in the middle of the night to go pee. I have experimented with stopping drinking water much earlier in the day, but my bladder still wakes me up. I also see water retention in the form of swelling in my upper cheeks. I understand it’s water element imbalance and am curious what I can try to balance it out?

I’m curious to find out too. I have never heard of a water element imbalance before. I’m wondering if that is me too? It happens to me a lot of the time (not every night but most).
Sauerkraut Recipes…
What flavourings/add ins do you add when making sauerkraut? I’ve always added fennel seeds but one I bought recently (while I wait for mine to brew) has tumeric. It started me wondering what else could be used. Thought I’d tap into the expertises here - what are your favourite flavourings/add ins when making sauerkraut? Thanks in advance for all your suggestions. It will help continue my slight obsession with sauerkraut at the moment!

If any spices are aggravating your dosha - here are some tips
At the top of the list is primal: Urine therapy, sipping fresh. The "acid reflux "you are experiencing could result from an imbalance between the heating and stimulating properties of the spices in golden milk (e.g., turmeric, ginger) and CCF tea (cumin, coriander, fennel) and the already sensitive digestive system of a Vata-Pitta constitution, especially during Vata season. In Vata season, characterized by dry, cold, and mobile qualities, the digestive fire (Agni) may become irregular, leading to symptoms like bloating, indigestion, or acid reflux. Possible Causes: 1. Pitta Aggravation: Spices such as ginger, black pepper, and turmeric are heating in nature. For a Pitta dosha, which is already prone to heat, these spices can aggravate acid production, leading to reflux. 2. Vata Imbalance: The dry, light qualities of Vata can weaken digestion. When paired with stimulating spices, it can further disrupt the digestive process, causing discomfort. 3. Overstimulation of Agni: The combination of heating spices may over-stimulate the digestive fire, causing excessive acid production in a system that might already be sensitive. Remedies to Calm the Reaction: 1. Aloe Vera Juice: Known for its cooling and soothing properties, aloe vera can help reduce Pitta-driven acid reflux while providing relief from inflammation in the digestive tract. 2. Slippery Elm or Licorice Tea: Both of these herbs are cooling and mucilaginous, helping to soothe the lining of the stomach and esophagus while counteracting the excess acidity. 3. Cooling Spices: Incorporate more cooling, carminative spices such as fennel or coriander, which can balance both Vata and Pitta. Fennel, in particular, helps calm acidity without adding heat. 4. Avoid Heating Spices: Reduce or eliminate ginger, black pepper, and cinnamon, as they may exacerbate the issue. 5. Ashwagandha Milk: Instead of golden milk, consider taking warm milk with ashwagandha. It is calming to both Vata and Pitta doshas and will not aggravate acidity.
