Day 18 of The Calm Catalyst
Today’s focus is on creating a pre-sleep routine to set the stage for deep, restorative sleep. By intentionally winding down and signaling to your body that it’s time to rest, you’re giving your nervous system the chance to fully recharge. What did you include in your pre-sleep routine? Did it help you feel more prepared for restful sleep?

I took a couple of sleep supplements, turned the lights down, journaled for a little bit, read a book and fell asleep pretty quickly. Slept pretty good!
Digestion through the lens of Chinese Medicine
I have a mini program that I created about 5 years ago called Nourish that teaches you how to optimize your digestion through the lens of Chinese Medicine. I am thinking about gifting to this community because I feel that it's useful information that is just sitting there. It is not through the lens of functional medicine but I believe to be core principles that are often overlooked when optimizing digestion. If I get enough likes and comments here, I will load it for you all 😆

Day 15 &16 Calm Catalyst
Some of you did your own checkins but wanted to make a post for these days. I took some time this weekend offline and it was very healthy for my nervous system. You can't schedule posts on here (that I am aware of) so thanks for understanding. Day 15 was Digestive Breathing, helping you connect with your breath and stimulate your body’s natural ability to relax and restore. How did this practice feel for you? Did you notice a sense of calm or connection to your body? Day 16 is hydration with a twist. Did today’s hydration check feel different than your usual routine? Did it bring a sense of calm or awareness?

Lemon and mineral salt are my go-to’s in my water. Taking mindful moments to drink my water was different. I usually don’t even think about it. I’m grateful I have clean water to drink. Slowing down to drink it made me aware that I need to drink more daily, especially living in the high desert.
How is the Calm Catalyst supporting you?
So curious how everyone is handling December while participating in the Calm Catalyst? Any noticeable differences in anxiety/overwhelm?

I look forward to this every day and it’s really helpful.
Day 13 of The Calm Catalyst
I will be sending a handout for everyone who responds to this post. Today’s practice is wonderfully simple and deeply restorative. Sometimes, the most effective way to reset your nervous system is to let out a good, old-fashioned sigh. Yes, really! How did today’s practice feel for you? Did you notice a shift in your mood or energy?

I was reading your post and sighed before I even read what the exercise was. So I took an intentional deep breath and sighed and my shoulders lowered, relaxation set in. Nice boost of energy too.
