How amazing is it that our God is the only God of Love first.
In doing some reading and devotional this morning - I was reminded that of all the religions in the world Christianity is the only one that is LOVE first. All of our interactions with God are through the lens of LOVE. Even when there is correction and discipline - it is through the lens of love. There is no other faith that is so love centric. And being love centric makes ALL the difference. He so LOVED this world and the humans in it - despite their full rejection of that love and relationship - that he did the unthinkable and became human so he could repair forever that broken relationship. That is pretty mind blowing. And this is just a reminder that if you are indeed going to call yourself a Christian - you much proceed LOVE first in all things. Not easy for sure. But that is how we truly walk and act in the image of God. Love first. Have a great weekend!

It is love-centric. God is also other's focused. This is something I've been learning. I am an only child, never played a team sport, never joined a sorority and literally at age 38 got married- this is the first time in my life where I've had to share and be a team player. God has been doing a work in me for the past year. Teaching me that He is not selfish- He is focused on service. Jesus came to serve. God existed as Father, Son, Holy Spirit- in community- before man was created. Then man was created for relationship, love, community. I spent so much of my life self focused (even though my career is about helping others) and pursuing whatever my heart desired... And now I'm learning a whole new way of living, a new way of loving, a new way of a serving and a new way of being in community. And it all starts with the Love of God and being other's focused.

I love your posts @Havilah Vangroll . Your transparency and vulnerability in sharing what God reveals to you inspires me to do the same. You remind me that we are all growing and going through similar struggles and emotions. And that it is okay to share that with others instead of being silent and strong.
Impact VS Income: The Truth About What Christian Entrepreneurs Really Want
Let’s talk about something many Christian entrepreneurs won’t admit: We say things like, “I don’t care about money; I just want to make a bigger impact.” And we mean it—impact is why we’re here. It’s why we work hard, why we push through challenges, and why we stay committed to the mission God gave us. But let’s be honest. It’s not just about impact. Deep down, many of us do care about income. Not for selfish reasons, but because we want to: • Bless our families with security and freedom. • Grow our businesses so we can reach and serve more people. • Give generously to our communities, churches, and ministries. Here’s the thing: there’s nothing wrong with desiring financial abundance if your heart is in the right place. Money isn’t the problem. It’s a tool—a resource God can use through you to multiply your impact. The problem is we often feel like admitting we care about income makes us less spiritual. But that’s not true. When you pursue financial success with integrity, it becomes a means of creating lasting change. So, let’s stop pretending we’re above caring about money. Instead, let’s focus on stewarding it well. You can prioritize impact and trust God to provide the income to sustain it. The two aren’t at odds—they work together. Be honest with yourself. Dream bigger. Pursue both impact and income, and trust God to use you to make a difference that lasts. What are your thoughts on this?

1 Timothy 5:17-18 NLT [17] Elders who do their work well should be respected and paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching. [18] For the Scripture says, “You must not muzzle an ox to keep it from eating as it treads out the grain.” And in another place, “Those who work deserve their pay!” So.. this☝🏽 And I agree with what you all have already expressed.

@Christine van Tonder In the name of Jesus, we command this virus to leave Christine and her family, by His stripes we are healed. We declare healing over this family. Thank you Lord that you have given us such wonderfully intelligent bodies that can fight off viruses and restore itself. Thank you for innate gift of physical healing. We ask that you give Christine and family perfect rest, so that the can carry on doing all the good works you have set apart for them to do. We ask that you give Christine an extra dose of energy and mental clarity to tend to her family. In Jesus name.
Sometimes we have to learn to be selfish
Ok, before anyone comes at me, hear me out. Today while I was reading Galatians in my devotional time. I was shown that I had to learn how to be “selfish” before I could learn to be selfless. (Not the first time I have shown this 😌) I have struggled with taking care of me. My needs and my desires and my energy always went to everyone around me first. At my own expense. It led me to resent those I was loving and supporting. It led me to frustration and anger. It led me burnout and disaster - personal and professionally. It has taken me years to find my balance. And I am still working on it. The Holy Spirit convicted me of this recently - that as a child of God I must care for myself and allow others to care for me. I am worthy. I am a child of the King. Once I have learned to be more “selfish” in that I care for me, I protect my energy, I love myself, and I nurture myself - I am now finding more ways and greater capacity to love and care for others from a position of love and not obligation. So if you are finding that serving others and loving others is burdensome and depleting - that is NOT serving God or his calling for you. We must learn to love ourselves the way He loves us. Then we can love others in like form. Happy Sunday - my deep thoughts for the week. 😊

I totally agree with this. Self Care is not selfish. You cannot pour from an empty cup. It's unfortunate that society has over-hyped self-care to mean something over indulgent or to inconsiderate of those around you. True self care is setting boundaries for yourself and what you need so that when "life" calls for your attention you have the energy and focus to respond instead of react. There are so many forms of self care, it can be something as taking 2 minutes to breathe and be still in His presence to a candle lit bubble bath. The purpose remains the same- to fill your cup in order to pour out from abundance. Women are naturally givers/nurturers/care takers, so it's imperative that we learn to start from within.
