IN PERSON or VIRTUAL ESTIMATES?
Do you do in-person or virtual estimates? We try to do in-person estimates almost every time. For our washing company, I would not do it any other way. My sales guys might go for a call to wash siding, but they rarely only sell what was asked for. Our average ticket price goes up 35% with in-person estimates, and so do our closing rates. We will give a ballpark over the phone for our floor coatings to ensure they are not expecting a multi-hundred job when it will be multi-thousands. We always go in person when the caller is okay with a ballpark. Christmas lights are always in-person. If you don't go in person, how could you ever build great package options that you can use to push the homeowner towards getting more work done than they called for? What do you do?

@David Hamel this is good to know. I'm just starting out. I was told to always do in-person for coating bids from my business mentor. First bid I did the customer was shocked. Not sure what I could have done to manage his expectations in that moment. So you recommend asking what square footage they have and send out an estimate first? How does that typically work. And how do you help manage expectations? Awesome to hear about your other business as well.

Thanks @David Hamel Great advice I appreciate your perspective. Likewise. I have a customer who is over an hour drive away. I would defiantly want to make sure My price was within his range of expectations before making the long journey.

Cracks! How to and what rates?
Hello, I'm curious to know your solutions with cracks? I'm just starting out and have yet to experience this. What methods do you recommend that are cost efficient? What do you charge to fill cracks. Or do you fill them? Thanks!

Cost SQ. FT. to Grind Only?
If you were to price quote just the cost to grind the concrete. What would you charge per square feet? Would this differ if you owned your grinder and equipment vs had to rent the all the equipment? Curious to see your thoughts thanks! I'm just starting up coating find this group to be very helpful getting my business started up.

@Neil Damackine thanks for your reply! sounds like good advice. So far I have referenced other garage coating websites in my area and nation wide and they do vary drastically in quality and information. My guess is as we grow we can add new functionalities and updated improve the looks. But what would you and others say are the bare minimums for a startup website? I don't even have photos yet. I do have a logo!
