Why Resistance Training on Days You Dine Out is a Game-Changer
Tonight I’m heading to a dinner event. It’s supposed to be my rest day from the weights, but I’m adjusting the calendar to get some lifts in. Going out to a dinner (or any other meal) event is a time to enjoy your favorite foods, but it can also be an opportunity to maximize your fitness goals! Here’s why hitting the weights on a day you know you’ll be dining out can be a smart move: 💪 Enhanced Energy Levels: With the extra calories from your meal, your body has more fuel to push harder during resistance training. Use that energy to lift heavier or go for an extra set! 🔥 Boost Metabolism: Resistance training helps you build muscle, which increases your resting metabolic rate. Combining that with a meal ensures your body burns through calories efficiently. 🧬 Better Nutrient Partitioning: Strength training makes your muscles more insulin-sensitive, meaning your body is more likely to store those extra carbs and calories in your muscles as glycogen, not fat. 🎯 Balanced Mindset: Pairing indulgence with a productive workout keeps you in control of your goals while still enjoying life. It’s not about guilt—it’s about strategy and sustainability. So, the next time you plan a meal out, pair it with a solid resistance training session. Enjoy the food (still selecting a healthier option in some way), crush the workout, and keep building the best version of yourself! #ResistanceTraining #FitnessGoals

Ease Up on Yourself- Finding Flow in a Pressured World
In a world that constantly tells us to push harder, reach higher, and always strive for more, it’s easy to forget the value of simply easing up on ourselves. When we find ourselves at a crossroads, unsure of our next move, or feeling overwhelmed, maybe the answer isn’t to push through the resistance, but to pause, breathe, and let things unfold naturally. The Trap of Forcing Things How often do we find ourselves caught up in the belief that every goal, every task, and every plan requires immense effort and force? This mindset can be a trap. When we constantly push ourselves, it can quickly turn into fear—fear that we won’t finish what we started, fear that the outcome won’t be perfect, or even fear that we’re not enough. This pressure, though well-intentioned, often blocks the very flow we need to make things happen with ease. I used to LIVE in this pressured space of scarcity. Try a Different Approach It took some coaching, but I learned to embrace a new way of being since my pressured way wasn’t really serving me. My advice is- Instead of pushing harder when you don’t know what to do, try easing up. Explore a different way of working—one that embraces love and gentleness. This could mean taking a break, stepping back, and simply letting things be. Relaxation doesn’t mean you’re giving up; it’s actually a way of making space for things to come together naturally. What if you tried something entirely different when you’re stuck? Go for a walk, read a poem, breathe deeply, or light a candle. Sometimes the smallest shift in our surroundings or mindset can give us fresh energy and clarity. If fear or doubt starts creeping in, recognize it, feel it, and then let it go. You may find that, when you return to the task, you can approach it with a clearer, more open heart. Let Things Unfold Naturally There’s a beauty in letting things evolve at their own pace. When we stop forcing and allow things to flow, we often find ourselves in the right place at the right time, with everything coming together just as it should. This doesn’t mean that things will always be perfect, but they will feel more natural, right, and even joyful.

@Shyla Smith oh I can really relate to YOU! When all the multitasks come to a head- That is our sign to step back- rather than indulge more in the cray cray that life wants of us. I’m so glad to hear this is something you are working on. Keep at it. Keep it present and at the forefront of your intentions. Awareness will is the starting point 💯
Embrace the Challenge: Growth Begins Outside Your Comfort Zone
Today, remember that growth often happens outside of comfort zones. Embrace challenges as opportunities to stretch, adapt, and learn. It’s easy to play it safe, but real progress comes from pushing just a little further than you did yesterday. Instead of focusing on what’s hard, think of how much stronger and more resilient you’re becoming. Every small effort builds a foundation of mental strength and determination. So take on today with courage and confidence—you’re capable of more than you realize. Tell yourself something different. For example. When I’m pushing hard in a set at the gym, I’m saying “GROW! STRONG!” Instead of “this is too hard… I have to stop”. Pay attention to what you tell yourself to get out of that comfort zone. Comment here what you will tell yourself next time the stretch feels hard!
