How do you gain new business?
Happy Monday Everyone 🌟 I have been tasked this week with brainstorming new business lead gen ideas and I am intrigued if anyone has any different or outside the box tips they use for gaining new leads and prospects that isn't just from a data source or email campaign? Thanks in advance 💖

Really depends on what you’re selling and who to. There are so many “lead gen” opportunities but only a few will work for you e.g: PPC - if you have the budget and if there is an audience. Networking - if your prospects network. Lead magnets on websites - depends on audience and amount of traffic. SEO - long term I would just exhaust outbound as much as possible and then go for PPC e.g AdWords if you have the budget and there is an audience.

@Connie Higgins have you reviewed opportunities with existing clients? There’s typically a lot of money to be made with existing whether it’s price increase, upsell, cross sell or referral strategy and these are all low cost to implement. As with any lead gen activity, you’ve really got to go all in which means spending whether it’s on adverts, clicks or a new sales employee. Networking can be really good / low cost if done well for the right types of clients which I would of though fits your prospect profile.
Sequences, cadences, tracking
What’s the best way to track outbound activities, and what does your outbound activity look like? Do you have some sort of multi-channel sequence or do you hit the phone only? Interested to hear what others are doing. I’m currently phone only, am I missing a trick…

@Connie Higgins Yeah think I'll stick to Excel. I only use CRM for leads post-sales meeting and onwards other wise it gets messy / waste of time with prospecting pre-sales meeting

What are your opinions on making sales calls from a mobile number versus a local business number?

Mobile seems to work fine, like @Munro Barclay-Miller says I’m more likely to answer a mobile 100%!
Who has it worse
Having a particularly bad week for getting people to answer the phone. I'm hoping someone else's suffering will make me feel better about mine. Lets compare, whats an average dial:conversation ratio for you all? And (more importantly) what does your worst week for dial:conversation look like?

For every 50 dials, I’m getting through to about 4-5 prospects, I’m primarily calling office numbers not mobiles unfortunately… good to hear the struggle is real for everyone! 😬
