Weighted Jumps
Where do weighted jump variations fall within your guys' plyometric toolbox? Is it something you utilize often or more something that is a case by case scenario? I lean heavily on Matt Watson's plyo continuum/classification and I know he will utilize them in deep tier for coordination/COM control - but what about higher performance outcomes/perhaps GRF work? Thanks!

The weighted jumps, actually bridge the gap between the dynamic effort work and the plyometric effort work. Depending on your strength levels you use 20-50% 1 RM (the stronger you are the lower you are on the continuum). If you are interested I am happy to present on this a bit, since I have done quite an extensive amount of work on that with my athletes...

@Jack Somerville Yes. To be honest, it really depends on what your training goal is. One thing I really like is the concept of Kraemer and Zatsiorskiy who talk about the 'Goal Oriented Training' leading your training with the desired adaptations. In a nutshell (and very simplistic), the ballistic effort trains RFD (rate of force development), so if that is something you are after, go for it. Considering I have spent the last 15 years training BMX Supercross riders and Track Cycling Sprinters, this type of adaptation is hugely relevant for us.

Rippetoe on squats for Oly lifting
Thought I’d leave this here for everyone, especially thought @Angus Bradley would like this. Probably the most lucid argument I’ve ever seen Rip make (and I’m a huge Rip apologist). “I’ll go out on a limb here and say that Olympic lifters should probably learn to back squat with a low bar position, since it allows the use of heavier weights. After all, why do Olympic lifters do the back squat? It is not a contested lift. The front squat is another exercise anyway. The vertical back angle of the Olympic squat is not reproduced in the pull of either the snatch or the clean. It’s like trying to make the back squat into a slightly different version of the front squat. But that misses the point of the back squat. Olympic lifters squat to get their hips, legs, trunk, and back strong, like everybody else does.”

With the biggest respect, I found success in answering these sort of polarizing arguments from experts (Rippetoe just being one of them) by asking myself, if 90% of experts agree on one thing and have found success with it, and just one person and his or her diciples say something different, who should I go with...?
How to improve the front rack position
Hey Angus! Might I know how would u suggest to improve the front rack position. I seems lack of shoulder flexion and wrist extension mobility on my right side. When I did the FR position, I felt my right wrist is stressful and tight.

Aleksey Torokhtiy has a great exercise, where you can improve the from rack position by training the front rack.
