Sleep, who needs it?
Do I get enough sleep? I wake up at 3am Monday through Friday and between 5-6am durning the weekend. I have my reasons that are surrounded around my disciplines, routine, habits and rituals to living the life I desire. Sleep is essential for recharging our mental and physical batteries, significantly enhancing productivity. During sleep, our brains consolidate memories and process information, which boosts problem-solving skills and creativity. Quality rest improves focus, attention, and decision-making, allowing us to tackle tasks more efficiently. Physically, sleep aids recovery, muscle repair, and immune function, providing the energy needed for daily challenges. Insufficient rest can lead to burnout and decreased productivity. By prioritizing quality sleep, we invest in our overall performance and well-being, empowering us to be more productive and engaged in our work. The answer for me is yes, I get enough sleep. If you feel that you are challenged in the areas mentioned above, you may want to reconsider your sleeping patterns. Back To Alpha

I'm now using a smart watch which is revealing details about my sleep. It's so helpful!
Question
What do you do when you’re feeling a bit of depression settling in?

I'm a big fan of always reminding myself "things could be worse". When I start to feel depressed, I take stock of the good things I have going in my life, and feel gratitude that I have them. It would be worse if those things were not there (count your blessings). Also, keeping my mind active and my body moving - the chemicals move me out of depression.
Freakin Fear?
Who are you, and who have you become? Why do we, as men, deal with functional depression? Is it a “chemical imbalance,” or is it that a physician’s language amongst their profession that we’ve adopted as an excuse for not understanding the basis of our own emotions? For me, it started with the fear of failure. You know, the “what ifs,” the “I wish I would have’s,” the comparisons and all the other thoughts of that complements suicidal ideation. When I summed it all up, it came down to just that …fear—f***ing fear bro!!! The fear of what? Societal norms that aren’t even real? The opinions of people who are wearing social masks and dealing with their own issues? A group of people following the masses and to afraid not carve their on path? I lost so much by not knowing my own identity, by playing a game without knowing the number one rule: to protect the king & create the environment —. Overcoming , fear, depression, divorce , illness trauma.. whatever requires a combination of approaches tailored to your needs. Here are some strategies I found extremely helpful for myself. Let support each other fellas💪🏾 -Seek coaching Help - Medication - Establish a Routine - Stay Active - Eat a Balanced Diet - Practice Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques - Connect with Others - Set Realistic Goals - Limit Alcohol and Substance Use - Get Enough Sleep -Most importantly Educate Yourself The Alpha is Back!

💯 Wise words, Craig! I can relate as well to trying to fit in, when in reality we are all on unique paths and evolving as we age and grow (easier to understand with maturity). Also, on the "fear" front... I have always been very driven to succeed and overachieve... and I think this stems from growing up in a blue collar family that struggled to make ends meet. I am clear we were not poor, unhoused, etc... so we had more than some do! But still, that has fueled my fear of failure!
Birthday Gratitude
I will have to say my biggest win has been: 1. learning that I can enter any experience without my ego taking lead…… 2.. Validation is a concept & perception is personal to the individual and not me…. 3. Accept the truth & return to sender (RTS🖕🏾) on the bullshit Happy 52 to my human..
