Flex your copy muscle
The first time I recorded a video, I was sweating buckets. My hands were clammy, and I fumbled my words so much I thought, “Who’s gonna listen to this?” But here’s the thing: the more I did it, the better I got. Not perfect—never going to be—but confident enough to hit record without overthinking it. The magic? Just doing the bloody thing. Over and over. Want to write better copy? Write every day. Want to nail video content? Record 100 videos. Not getting traction on LinkedIn? Post 100 times. – It’s not glamorous. – It’s not quick. – But it works. You don’t need fancy equipment, a pro setup, or some groundbreaking idea. You just need to show up, consistently. Learn the basics. Create the habit. Put in the reps. Stop waiting for perfection. Start chasing progress. 🎯 You’re better than you think you are. Let’s go. 🚀

One of the best ways to create any video or audio content is to "speak to someone who wants to hear what you're saying'. I was producing and hosting radio for a few years and live broadcast is way easier when I was speaking to an audience I imagined was keen to hear me. Kinda like knowing your audience when writing email copy. Same same, but different. Also, your advice of just do it is spot on. Ready, Fire, Aim. Its the only way to get better and the most effective way of getting better at anything.

@Laszlo Csomor Too often I see email that is unfocused and offers me the reader no value. It's just noise from companies bragging about how awesome their products are and ignoring me and my interests in the process. They want me to work at making a buying decision and do so without taking the time to get to know me first. I think @Doug Dennison nailed it when he says "they send with themselves in mind."

For the past few years, I've worked with Constant Contact and MailChimp as they were already established by clients. I'm always keen to try something new and improved.
3 list health tips 🧹
List health is email marketing 101, but let’s be real—how often are you actually doing it? 🤔 Let’s fix that with three game-changing tips to keep your list squeaky clean and your emails landing in inboxes, not spam folders. 🚀 1. Permission is EVERYTHING. Only email people who’ve explicitly said, “Yes, I want your emails!” Don’t scrape LinkedIn contacts or buy dodgy data. Not only is that a GDPR nightmare, but it’ll tank your deliverability faster than you can say “spam folder.” A spam complaint here, a bounce there—before you know it, your email tool bans you. Stick to consent—it’s sexy and effective. 2. Validate those emails. Forget double opt-in—it kills conversions. Instead, use email verification tools. They catch fake addresses and bots before they pollute your list. Pro tip: if you’re sharing a lead magnet, email the download link rather than showing it on the form submission page. No real email, no freebie. 💡 3. Ruthlessly prune your list. Cold subscribers (those ignoring you for 90+ days)? Delete. Bounced emails? Delete. Unsubscribed? Gone. Keeping disengaged contacts doesn’t just cost you money on platforms like Mailchimp—it tanks your sender reputation. And if your reputation dips, your deliverability follows. Bye-bye inbox visibility. Prune weekly or monthly—make it a habit. ✂️ These small steps protect your list, your wallet, and your reputation. Keep it clean, keep it lean, and watch those open rates soar. Let’s do this! 👊

I love cleaning up lists. It's great to know that the contacts on my clients' lists want to be there.
DMARC and Google Workspace
Hey Doug and all. I read the note on DMARC and not sure if it applies to my situation. I have an email address via GoDaddy domain in use via Google Workspace. Not sure if DMARC or Apple Business will work for me. Any suggestions on what I could do?Or if I need to?

I did try this but was unsuccessful. It suggested a few different things to setup via Google/ GMail and it looks too complicated for me to navigate.
