Getting Rid of the Victim Mentality
The reality is, must of our athletic careers didn't go as planned. Maybe you dealt with injuries, didn't get to play, had a bad relationship with your coach, you name it. If yours went well then a huge congrats! You are part of the 10%. But the issue isn't that your career didn't go how you wanted, it's the mindset you have around it. No matter how good or bad you career went in your eyes, there are extremely valuable lessons that you HAD to experience to step into your true purpose. Our careers as athletes are just the building blocks to becoming our best self. We actually have an advantage, because it takes most people 30+ years to learn these lessons, and that's if they ever learn them at all. What parts of your athletic career have you viewed negatively? As you have learned more about what your purpose is outside of sports, how were these moments actually necessary to go through?

I use the lessons I learned from athletics to find my purpose as an attorney - advocating for others the way I wish someone would have advocated for me!
What is your health routine now? What keeps you motivated?
Figuring out a new health routine after sports can seem daunting. Not only can it be confusing know what is actually best, but there is also no trophy at the end as motivation. It is AMAZING having the freedom to choose your routine, but the question becomes... how in the world am I supposed to do this? It may take a little time for you to find what works best for you, but no matter what you do, don't give it up altogether. Taking care of your body is the first priority in order to succeed in all other areas. That means moving the body, eating whole foods, getting the proper amount of sleep, and working on your mental. How are you currently taking care of your body? What keeps you motivated?
