WELCOME to the Strong Sisters Community! [READ THIS FIRST!]
Welcome to the Strong Sisters Community, girls! My name is Oriana, many people also call me Coach O (people seem to confuse it with Ariana…I get it). I am currently based in Tuscaloosa, AL and originally from Ann Arbor, MI. I am a personal trainer and coach and have been working with clients and groups for over 4 years now at my in person company called Coach O Athletics. I started training clients at a rec field, then to a 1 car garage gym, currently we are in a 2 car pink garage gym, with plans for bigger and more fun spaces in the future! For fun, I play tennis with my fiance, take care of my puppy Banjo (I’m sure you’ll see lots of him here), and watch Only Murders in the Building on Hulu! Working out, programming solid routines, and staying consistent and accountable were things I had to figure out on my own through my college years and into the real world. It was hard. This space is something I wish I had back then and am really excited to be here with you today. Go ahead and introduce yourself as a comment to this post. Who are you? Where are you from? What are your goals? Where are you going? What’s your favorite guilty pleasure? Let us in on what makes you, you! Happy to have you here - stay strong! O ps. share a pic of your current obsession with your post! Banjo is always at the top of my list 😄

Buckle up sisters! In one week, we will be starting a holiday challenge together 🦃 If you wish to take it on, I'll be posting some form of wellness tip/goal every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday of the week. The goal will be tackle the goal and stack as many days as we can within this time period. I know it can be difficult to carve time out for yourself as you bounce between commitments and holiday cheer - but this will keep you on your toes 🎄 Comment "IN 💪" below if you are up to the challenge!

DIET OR EXERCISE?!
Quick reality check: if you've been jumping from diet to diet, obsessing over the scale, and still not seeing lasting results - I've got some truth bombs to drop. Let me share what I've learned coaching hundreds of women: while diet tweaks can give you quick wins (and yes, that initial water weight drop feels amazing), it's strength training that's going to transform your body and health for LIFE. Here's the science-backed tea: - Every pound of muscle burns an extra 50-70 calories per day at rest (compared to fat) - Women who strength train 2-3x/week have a 30% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes - Muscle mass is one of the strongest predictors of longevity after age 40 - Regular strength training can increase bone density by 1-3% per year (bye bye, osteoporosis risk!) Plus, let's be real - constantly restricting calories slows your metabolism, tanks your energy, and messes with your hormones. Been there, done that, got the burnout t-shirt. 🙃 Instead of asking "how can I eat less?" start asking "how can I build more?" More muscle. More strength. More energy. More LIFE. I'm not saying nutrition doesn't matter - it absolutely does! But shifting your focus from restriction to fueling muscle growth is literally life-changing. My clients who've made this mental shift are now: - Eating MORE while maintaining their results - Feeling strong and capable - Actually enjoying their fitness journey - Setting examples for their daughters about healthy relationships with food and exercise Ready to build a body that serves you for life instead of fighting it every step of the way? DM me and we can chat! Get after it! 💪
