Question: pull ups vs lat pulldowns
Hi, I'm 100kg 6'2. I'm trying to achieve my first pull up by the end of the year. I am also planning to cut down to about 90kg by then to make this easier.
I can currently do lat pulldowns at 57kg (for about 16 reps max in one set) and do cable rows at the same weight (for 13 top set)
Would it be more beneficial for me to continue doing these exercises or should I switch to the pull up program by caliversity where I do lots of banded pull ups and inverted pull ups instead?
The goal is to unlock the pull up as fast as possible.
