I've been thinking recently about all the people/companies that are trying to get attention (i.e. marketing).
The number of attention-seeking organizations is probably exponentially increasing - so barring people that don't yet have internet / phones / haven't been born yet... isn't attention getting scarce-er?
Hypothetically, your iPhone, TV, Facebook, your boss, your spouse, your kids, your broken sink all have a piece of your attention. So who is losing attention?
I posit... you? It's possible now to live an entire life and give your attention all away - to school, to the bank, to retirement, to all the things you should buy (CYBERTRUCK!!!).
I wonder if it's time like "The Richest Man in Babylon" to save the first 10% of your attention before spending the rest.
Maybe that's why morning routines are so popular, meditation, working out, eating healthy - it's a little attention that's yours before you spend all the rest.
Thoughts?
