Hi everyone - I'm Laurent, born and raised in France. Lived in Germany and relocated to the US (Michigan) 12 years ago (dual citizenship since 2018). I have been a successful Automotive Executive for 20+ years and led a couple of large companies (Nexteer Automotive, $3B automotive supplier that we IPO'd in Hongkong in 2013). Travelling 50% of the time and in China every 4 weeks, I ended up with burnout ! Sounds familiar and decided that I wanted a more entrepreneurial life.
A Friend of mine in the Translation Industry asked me to co-found Pairaphrase, a secured Software Translation platform for enterprises late 2017.
I love the SAAS business model but like Fiona, the revenue was too low to make any kind of money for the first few years. So I decided to go back to Automotive Mid2020 which has impacted the CAGR of the Start-Up (25-30% CAGR organically over the past 5 years). I just restructured another automotive supplier Mobex Global and sold it at the end of October and I am currently 100% focused on Pairaphrase. I started outbound a few months ago helped by a Ukrainian lead Gen company and I started my cold emailing outreach campaign at the end of last year to try to grow much faster. My goal is to double the size of the company in the next 18 months to generate enough revenue to be able to pay my bill and only focus on the start-up.
Excited to be part of this group. Aaron thanks for the invite!

how’s the cold campaign going? I’ve never tried that.
My day job is also automotive related. I run my State’s traffic alerting website/app/backend etc.

It's a completely new territory for me so I am learning every single day on how to generate lead (using lead gen Software like Zoom Info, Bombora,,.,), warm up mailboxes, check emails for validity before sending (to reduce bounce rate), use AI to write the email to optimize chances to get them opened and answered,... It's really an Art and humbling experience (everything is for me as SAAS is so different from manufacturing) but I have started to get appointments booked so I know it's a matter of time to generate revenue. The key is identify your ICP really well and target these to have a chance that some people reply to your email. I started cold emailing with a vendor in Ukraine booking appointments for me and try to learnt all I can to duplicate some of it.

Wow, first in!
Lachlan from Cloutly here - the all-in-one review-tech platform that helps SMEs collect, measure and manage the customer experience. We're connecting the dots between reviews and revenue, giving local businesses the tools to capture and leverage feedback in a more personal, less 'transactional' way.
Here's our site (with a neat little product video) - https://cloutly.com/
We play in a pretty crowded space, so are constantly innovating, building partnerships and growing our moats.

Hi all! I'm Fiona, co-founder and CEO of My Fit Pro. I help fitness business grow by live streaming in professional quality.
We've been running since 2020 (yep, a lockdown startup) and we're doing OK, earning enough to pay my co-founder (who is also my husband) and our team of contractors. But it's not enough to pay me, so I'm juggling my day job and our SaaS, and also teaching a dance fitness class several times per week. I was our first customer.
I'm also mum of two girls aged 5 and 7.
I've been on paid long service leave from my day job for the last 9 months, and time is running out. Back to work in 3 weeks but it'll be part time, 3 days on my paid day job, 2 days as the unpaid CEO of my SaaS.
Desperately clinging on until the MRR grows enough to pay me so I can quit my day job and not be so overwhelmed by doing too many things.
I live in Sydney, Australia.
I'm excited to be here and learn from everyone and hopefully find some tweaks to pump up the business enough to help me quit my day job.

At 29 I took my first VC-funded startup from zero to €3 million ARR in just two years, single-handedly attracting over 500 clients. Yet, amid what seemed to be a sure success, I found myself burnt out, misaligned, and deeply unhappy.
Realizing the need for change, I made the decision to leave the company and begin a quest to find what I really wanted to do and come back to health.
I relocated to Portugal, became a long-distance trail runner and learned to surf.
My journey turned out to be longer than expected. Nothing seemed to click and I didn’t really want to work for other people. To support myself financially I finally accepted a 6-figure job, it then became crystal clear:
  • Money did not motivate me, I rather be poor than work for other people
  • My freedom was invaluable; I didn't want to be constrained by others' wants and needs.
  • I was committed to meaningful work, refusing to engage in ventures lacking a positive impact.
After talking with +150 coaches in 2022, to understand their needs, me and my business partner Joakim launched the Swirl MVP in November 2022.
Swirl is a self-funded venture, this time around we are not taking VC-investment. But staying FREE, so that we can serve our clients in the best way! 💚
Swirl is now a platform for coaches and individuals seeking to make a positive impact on the world. With Swirl, they can host their courses, memberships, and 1:1 sessions.

Awesome! I did not know about your first startup, congrats. Can totally relate with the feeling of getting burned out and unhappy.
Your story is EXACTLY my experience. I'm so glad you found this new path, seems like a much better fit for you. So glad to have you here!

So cool we share the same story AND I feel it's so common among entrepreneurs which then leads us to doing things differently the second time around.
Excited to be here, let's get this party started! 🥳

Hello
I'm building a candidate screening platform (skills & knowledge-based assessment) focused on marketing. This is a problem I've come up over and over again as a marketing advisor for tech companies. Keen to connect with other SaaS founders.

Hey everyone,
I'm Rade Joksimovic, excited to be here! During my two decades in the startup space, I've experienced quite the journey - from celebrating my first startup acquisition at 21, experiencing the craze of Silicon Valley and VC world for a couple of years, to working with corporations out of Singapore on spinoffs, and most recently running a regulated hedge fund, while bootstrapping SaaS startups along the way.
My latest SaaS is ShortlistIQ. It's a tool designed to streamline the hiring process through the use of AI, making it easier to sift through candidates and identify top talent without getting buried under piles of resumes.
Why it's awesome? Well, ShortlistIQ brings simplicity to a complex problem, saving time and energy in finding the right fit for your team, and most importantly eliminating hiring bias.
I'm here to learn, share, and grow with all of you. Looking forward to the exchange of ideas and experiences.
Cheers,
Rade
