So… let's talk CHURN. 🌪️
What the frick is that, maybe you ask?
• In simple terms, churn is when members LEAVE your community—whether it's paid or free.
• They jump in, have a look around, and then at some point jump out.
• It's that simple. Think of it as the rate at which people STOP being part of your space.
(What we want be doing is finding ways to REDUCE this and KEEP people inside the community)
I started my $1 community just 10 days ago, and guess what?
🚨 I've already lost two members. (I'm all for sharing the RAW TRUTH)
At first, yeah, I felt a tiny little sting.
Like, "Oh no, what did I do wrong?!"
Pity poor me for a tiny second.
But then I remembered something IMPORTANT:
People come, and people go.
You're NOT gonna be everyone's cup of tea, and that's OKAY.
Here's the thing:
• No matter if you're just starting out or have built a MILLION-DOLLAR empire, people WILL leave your community.
• Churn happens to EVERYONE, and it's a TOTALLY NORMAL part of growth.
• It's also a POWERFUL TOOL for learning and improving.
## 🔍 So, How Do You Deal With It? Here's How I'm Handling Churn:
1️⃣ Recognize It's Normal. Churn happens to EVERYONE.
• Whether you're new, seasoned, or crushing it at the top, people will leave.
• It's part of the journey, and it DOESN'T MEAN you're doing anything wrong.
2️⃣ Check Your Insights—It's Fckin Gold! 💎
Checking your community insights is KEY to understanding how you're doing.
• Are people dropping off at a certain point?
• Did something specific trigger their exit?
• By digging into those insights, you can discover areas to IMPROVE your community and create an even BETTER experience.
• I'll be using my own insights to learn what WORKS and what DOESN'T, helping me adjust and grow.
3️⃣ Ask for Feedback, But Don't Take It Personally. 🗣️
• If you feel like it, drop them a quick message thanking them for being part of your community.
• Say, "Hey, I noticed you left. No hard feelings! If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear it so I can grow." 💡
• You never know what insights they might share that could help you LEVEL UP.
• (I always drop my paying members a message if they leave, d'ya know what they truly appreciate and some come back)
4️⃣ Celebrate Those Who Came In (Even if They Leave). 🎉
• Instead of focusing on who left, focus on the fact that they were INTRIGUED enough to join in the first place.
• Celebrate their entrance and take PRIDE in the value you brought to them while they were there.
5️⃣ Learn From It, Grow From It. 📈
• Churn isn't just about loss—it's an OPPORTUNITY to learn.
• Ask yourself, "What could I do differently next time?
• How can I make my community experience even more MAGNETIC?"
6️⃣ Keep It Real, Don't Beat Yourself Up. 💪
• At the end of the day, you're NOT going to be everyone's vibe—and that's OKAY.
• Let's keep it real: you're building a space that attracts the RIGHT people.
• It's about QUALITY over QUANTITY every time.
## 🤔 How Are You Celebrating Churn?
I'd love to hear your stories!
• What LESSONS have you learned from people leaving your community?
• How are you USING that to grow?
