Help with Splashfoam
I've been trying to learn OpenFOAM and SplashFOAM looks like a blessing so far. As I am trying to mesh following the SplashFOAM webinar on YouTube, I get the error saying openfoam2306 is unavailable. I wanted to see if I can change the working case to OpenFOAM 2406 before I install the older one. Any help regarding this would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. P.S: I've tried the contact us page on simulitica website, it just redirects saying address currently unavailable as I try to submit a request, hence my posting the question here.

Interactive Pre-Installer for SplashFOAM 🌊
For those of you who haven't been able to run SplashFOAM locally yet, this is your sign ;) We have introduced an interactive program through which users can install the necessary packages for Splash to run on the local Linux system (Ubuntu 22.04 is always preferred). To use that new feature, head to the manual and follow the instructions in the link below: https://github.com/mohamedalysayed/SplashFOAM

Using "Mean Age of Air" in CFD
In industrial CFD consulting, my company has found the “Mean Age of Air” concept to be incredibly useful. It helps leverage a steady-state solution to show some transient-like flow behaviors. The steady-state solution already has characterized the primary and secondary flow structures, so adding in the Mean Age of Air calculation can enable some time-based information to be gleaned from the solution. We also have noticed that the concept is not well-documented in the CFD community, so we put together a workshop on how to incorporate this calculation into your CFD predictions. The workshop is also a great overview on convective vs. diffusive driven flow, so if you are a CFD beginner, it’s worth a listen. A summary and how-to steps are also available here: https://www.azorecfd.com/blog/mean-age-of-air Some applications: - Tank purging/cleaning operations - Ventilation of enclosed spaces - Air exchange rates in HVAC models - Identification of stagnant/bypass flow

blender CAD cleaning
In this post I will detail how to clean CAD geometry in writing. Attend the event for the live demonstration. 1.) in the right hand panel click on the eye icon for all the geometries except the one you want to edit 2.) click on the geometry you want to edit and go into edit mode 3.) go to select > select by trait > non-manifold edges. When you do this all the non-manifold edges will be highlighted. Use this to locate them. 3.5) you can also use x-ray to see through the geometry 4.) upon sighting the non-manifold select all the nodes/edges encasing the hole by holding ctrl + clicking 5.) press F to create a patch Repeat steps 1-5 to have satisfactory watertight geometry
