OpenFoam Learning
Hey everyone! I’m curious—how long did it take you to get comfortable using OpenFOAM? Whether you're still learning or feel like a pro now, I’d love to hear about your experience and any tips you have! 😄

Depends on how comfortably you can read wolf dynamics PDFs.
blender CAD cleaning
In this post I will detail how to clean CAD geometry in writing. Attend the event for the live demonstration. 1.) in the right hand panel click on the eye icon for all the geometries except the one you want to edit 2.) click on the geometry you want to edit and go into edit mode 3.) go to select > select by trait > non-manifold edges. When you do this all the non-manifold edges will be highlighted. Use this to locate them. 3.5) you can also use x-ray to see through the geometry 4.) upon sighting the non-manifold select all the nodes/edges encasing the hole by holding ctrl + clicking 5.) press F to create a patch Repeat steps 1-5 to have satisfactory watertight geometry

Does anyone here actually believe in AI?
OpenAI is a multi-million dollar corporation, it's online application ChatGPT is connected to a cloud network. After using it I have found it tends to give repulsively wrong answers to normal questions. If you use it, what application would it be for?

the best way to answer is to share an example. https://chatgpt.com/share/1144672c-7d66-499c-a91e-367bd8f277ee I derived this equation in 2015 at school. It is between 2 planetary bodies m1 and m2 and r1 represents the distance between m1 and the point at which the total gravitational force is 0. D is the separated distance between m1 and m2.
Meshing Tools/Strategies
Hi everyone, I was lately hooked on some new meshing strategies to include in SplashFOAM, and I was curious to know what your preferred meshing tools/methods are. Feel free to write your experience with meshing in the comments below. This feedback will help me a lot. Cheers! [N.B.: I may consider generating some meshing templates for canonical flows at some point, so stay tuned ;)]

I mostly use snappyhexamesh simply because cubic meshes are very accurate with sufficiently thick buffer layers. I don't know how well blockmesh can be used to create axi-rotational meshes but I do know it's good for 2d simulations.
HOW TO USE ALIBABA CLOUD AS A SUPERCOMPUTING RESOURCE
I am starting this thread to teach anyone how to use it. Starting with virtual private cloud. A virtual private cloud network is a private cloud network that is owned by you, an alibaba cloud user: 1.)log onto console 2.)navigate to virtual private cloud 3.)name your vSwitches based on their regions, ensure the ip addresses don't overlap (2 vSwitches having the same IP address) edit note: VPCs aren't expandable, once you have created one you can reuse it indefinitely forever.

a 128 core instance costs 5$ per hour. This will give you an idea on gauging how much it costs.

I would give a tutorial on how to use E-HPC but it's very new and is riddled with bugs.
