Hey team. Thought I'd post my question to the Community Board in case anyone else is interested. Context: Groundwork has helped me become aware of how my holding patterns can result in significant tightness of the jaw and how I move my neck and head. (And... then how the impacted movement of my neck and head impacts the tightness/discomfort of my jaw which then exacerbates my bad mood). I've started doing some "intuitive face/jaw massage and stretching". (In private. Because jaw stretching would genuinely scare small children). This provides temporary relief. Question: @Emma Robson has sometimes included a face stimulation at the end of a morning practice and seems to know a thing or two about the lymph system and the benefits of that area. Do you have any recommended reading / videos / resources that would help me in my Face Quest? (I'm genuinely interested in all the tiny muscles that live around the face and base of skull. I have a feeling they're important) (And yes, before anyone asks, I am trying to address the underlying causes for the clenching.) (The pain gets to "can't chew my crusty sourdough bread" and also impacts my singing resonance so it's legit impacting my quality of life)
